Police Dog units are about to take a massive hit across the United Kingdom. Police dogs are one of the most important members of the policing family. Police Dogs are used to chase suspects, head in to violence situations, on the front line in riots and help in the fight against drugs, police dogs can clear a nightclub for drug dealers in seconds and now we are about to tell them to go away. The government budget has planned cuts for the police dog units that keep our streets safe 24 hours a day. West Yorkshire Police have seen around a 40% reduction in police dogs! South Yorkshire Police are looking to reduce very shortly by up to 50% with the reduction of 15-20 handle…

are feeling the heat having been suspected of overcharging. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25052373 Wonder what will happen to any contracts already in place within the police service. I would hope they check the accounts and invoices. Ah yes - the private sector companies answering to shareholders doing good business with the public sector bodies - the panacea for this HMG appears not to be working in their favour.

This woman has been found guilty already, so although this is an appeal, I think she should be in court. Shame her in letting the gen. public see her in the court room. I for one hope that her appeal is as they say 'kicked out of court.' (no pun intended)

One of the country’s most senior judges provoked fury last night when he criticised short jail sentences for interfering with the home lives of criminals. Lord Neuberger, president of the Supreme Court, said he rejected the idea that a couple of months behind bars – and what he called ‘the clang of the prison gates’ – could help bring criminals to their senses. Instead, he warned such sentences ‘can be disruptive’ for the prisoner’s job and home life. The judge made his comments after visiting Holloway women’s prison in North London. He also expressed concern that prisoners there were forced to share a cell, when ‘the vast majority’ would, he said, prefer to have a …
