Link to article here. I think it's fair enough, and it's good to see that vehicles used to carry organs for transplant, bomb disposal units and mountain rescue teams are also likely to be granted the exemptions. I know there's been discussion about that happening previously on here, so it's good that something is finally being done about it.

Another crap news report below with dramatic figures from their survey* suggesting more than half of the polulation believe this. *The Sky News poll was conducted by Survation who questioned 1,005 people earlier this week. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/police-39-cover-wrongdoing-39-most-britons-212435028.html#p1Bd4H2 More than half of Britons believe there is a culture of cover-ups within the police, a Sky News poll has found. A total of 53% of members of the public questioned in the survey agreed that forces try to hide officers' wrongdoing. Just 18% of people polled disagreed that cover-ups take place. The findings follow a series of controversies in which p…

...is it only me who has watched Sky News today!! They have had reporters around the country having an "away day" interviewing people on such topics as stop and search and how it is being abused wholesale and the lack go trust in the police. They have had top brass agreeing that bobbies are stopping people without reason, picking on non whites etc etc. and so called "experts" slagging off the job! Then we have a report from that sorry excuse for an "independent body" the IPCC who are now chasing the officers involved in the Duggan shooting stating that officers will be compelled to be interviewed and are already disappointed and suspicious of officers who have already bee…

Sir Peter Fahy Greater Manchester has been hit by a shock £6.4m policing cut – partly to fund security in London’s banking district. Local police chiefs have expressed fury at the ‘outrageous’ figure, enough to pay for 145 officers. Chief Constable Sir Peter Fahy has warned it will spark more job losses and called for the Home Secretary to think again. And police and crime commissioner Tony Lloyd said GMP was losing out to government ‘pet projects’. More than £100,000 of the figure will go straight to City of London police who are said to need more money to deal with events of ‘major national interest’ in the capital’s financial district, including Old Bailey cour…

Very unfortunately for both parties. Maybe the officer thought the burglars were still in the house?

Despite the risks they run and the errors committed, the police remain popular In the wake of the Mark Duggan case, a lot of commentators and politicians are asking – can we trust the police? The short answer is: of course you bloody can. But for those who like an argument with a few more facts, here it is. First, the police have gone through an institutional transformation in the last ten years and are considerably more transparent as a result. Far from perfect, but much improved. This is one of the few things we have New Labour to thank for (yes, you read that in the Telegraph). The police encouraged people to come forward with grievances and forced officers to take …

http://www.thecomet.net/news/police_helicopter_support_in_hertfordshire_plummets_under_new_scheme_1_3212671 Interesting, this is the first time I have seen any stats on how much air support cover has dropped since NPAS took over. It is blatantly obvious that it has I have to say, but now we have evidence. So if you are covered by NPAS in another area, how are you finding the availability of air support?

Full Story: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/paramedics-held-hostage-knifepoint-90-3030767 Shocking, attacks on Paramedics seem to be increasing. not a great amount of detail here but would be good to find out if the Police were present when the attack happened as they called the ambulance.

From BBC breaking news: The Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is to be prosecuted for safety breaches after an unarmed man was shot dead in Cheshire. Anthony Grainger, 36, was shot in the chest after the car he was in was stopped in Culcheth on 3 March 2012. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said there was "sufficient evidence to prove that GMP breached the Health and Safety at Work Act", with Sir Peter Fahy facing the charge. GMP said it noted the decision. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
