Police Officers undertake a huge range of duties which vary from local policing patrols to assisting at major incidents. There are opportunities to progress into specialisms ranging from traffic to major crime and progress through the ranks. Bedfordshire Police is always looking for new police officers to step into the shoes of those who retire after 30 years’ service, move to other forces or decide to change careers. The force welcomes transferees from other forces, but is also keen to hear from potential student officers who live locally, have local knowledge and help us better ref…

" Max Gattlin was fined £250 for grabbing a female police officer after a night of heavy drinking A shame-faced City recruitment consultant has been slapped with a £250 fine for drunkenly grabbing a female police officer's bottom when she tried to arrest him. Max Gattlin, 24, had been drinking heavily at a work's party when police were called to the One New Change shopping centre near to St Paul's Cathedral. When a female officer went to arrest him for being drunk and disorderly, Gattlin reached out and grabbed her bottom. 1 hour ago The actions of two high-ranking Metropolitan Police officers are being investigated following the suspension of a borough commander. Ch Supt Colin Kennedy, who was in charge of Richmond and Twickenham in west London, was suspended 11 days ago over allegations of gross misconduct. A temporary superintendent was also placed on restricted duties over claims of "failures in duty". Now the inquiry is looking into the response of two other officers. The force would not confirm which rank the two officers were, but NPCC ranks in the Met include chief superintendents, commanders, deputy assistant commissioners, assistant commissioners, the deputy commissioner and …

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3553358/Paedophiles-look-low-level-child-abuse-sent-counselling-not-court-says-head-National-Crime-Agency.html I know this is from the Daily Mail but it appears to be correct reporting. I am wondering if this woman, Lynne Owens, should ever be taken seriously and she is obviously in the wrong job. To me it brings the National Crime Agency into disrepute. Offenders start at a lower level and gradually progress onto more extreme crime. This applies throughout crime from Porn to Drugs, to violence etc. How can the punlic ever have confidence.

This is the extraordinary moment a police car collided with a cyclist, drove over a bike and then sped off after tensions flared during a mass bike ride in central London. The police 4x4 hit the cyclist – causing him to stumble backwards and drop his bike – and then crushed a second bike under its wheels before racing off on Friday night. Witnesses described the incident at the junction of Vauxhall Bridge Road and Millbank as a “hit and run” as they slammed the officers’ actions. Scotland Yard said police were trying to drive away in their BMW X5 after being “targeted by demonstrators”. They drove over the bike after it had been deliberately left in the road as an obst…
