    Two men jailed for smuggling 95 firearms into the UK 13 March 2020 Two men who conspired to import 95 lethal handguns into the UK have been jailed for a total of 45 years, following an investigation by the joint NCA and Metropolitan Police Organised Crime Partnership (OCP). Denis Kolencukov, 26, was arrested on 1 July 2017 after 79 handguns and thousands of rounds of ammunition were seized by Border Force officers based at Coqeulles, France, following information supplied by the OCP.     A major report into online child sexual abuse has backed National Crime Agency (NCA) demands for the tech industry to do more to protect children. The agency gave extensive evidence to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse’s internet investigation which was held during 14 days in January 2018 and May 2019.     Six men have been arrested in Slovakia on suspicion of being part of an organised crime group that supplied over 1500 lethal firearms to the European criminal market, including to the UK. NAKA (Slovak National Crime Agency) officers arrested the men in December 2019 and in doing so, shut down the criminal enterprise.     A man from Tamworth was today charged with drugs and firearms offences by officers from the National Crime Agency. Irish national Thomas Kavanagh, 52, of Sutton Road, Mile Oak, was arrested as part of an NCA investigation in January 2019. Kavanagh is alleged to have conspired with others to import class A drugs, class B drugs and firearms over a period of more than two years between June 2015 and October 2017.     Nine people suspected of being part of an organised crime group responsible for importing at least two tonnes of cocaine have been arrested following a National Crime Agency operation.
