Two men have been charged with allegedly breaking into the London Container Terminal in Tilbury to retrieve packages of drugs. National Crime Agency investigators were called in on Tuesday 5 May after port workers spotted suspicious activity and reported it to port police. Two men were later arrested by Border Force officers, who recovered around 16 kilos of cocaine from a refrigerated container which had arrived from Belize on 1 May. The drugs would likely have had a potential street value in excess of £1 million. The National Crime Agency has partnered with Cyber Security Challenge UK to give students free access to their online platform ‘CyberLand’ over the coming months. CyberLand is a virtual city which provides gamified modules teaching 12-18 year-olds the fundamentals of cyber security, such as firewall configuration and digital forensics. The 16 interactive exercises, which are designed around the concept of protecting CyberLand from a cyber-attack, are now free to access until the end of September 2020. A driver who was caught trying to sneak nearly £300,000 criminal cash out of the UK just four hours after arriving into the country has been jailed. Mariusz Dorozynski, 33, from Zlotoryja in Poland, was initially bailed following his arrest for money laundering in June 2016, but he failed to return to be charged after being summonsed by post in November 2018. This led to National Crime Agency investigators applying for a European Arrest Warrant, and Dorozynski was apprehended in Poland and extradited back to the UK in October 2019. A Brazilian national who attempted to smuggle three kilos of high purity cocaine with an estimated street value of £350,000 in the lining of his suitcase has been jailed. Unemployed Valdir Medeiros Da Silva, 48, from Deramore Drive, Portadown was given a seven and a half year sentence today (Monday 27 April) at Belfast Crown Court following a National Crime Agency investigation. Three men have been arrested and cocaine with a potential street value of around £3 million has been seized as part of an National Crime Agency investigation into drugs supply.
