A 44-year-old man who is wanted in connection with a National Crime Agency investigation into large scale drug supply has been arrested attempting to leave the country. The Liverpool resident was detained by Border Force officers in Cheriton as he tried to leave the UK for Spain via the Channel Tunnel on Saturday 13 June. Officers searching his vehicle recovered £19,000 of suspected criminal cash. He remains in custody and is being questioned by NCA officers. A man who attempted to smuggle an array of illegal weapons into the UK has been jailed for 21 months. 53-year-old Kamber Ramadani from Bermondsey in east London told National Crime Agency investigators that he planned to sell the flick knives, butterfly knives and other weapons in his shop on the Old Kent Road. He’d been stopped by Border Force officers carrying out checks on incoming traffic at Dover docks on 12 February 2019, initially telling them he’d been out of the country visiting Croatia and Kosovo. A Turkish lorry driver has been jailed today for smuggling over £12 million of criminal cash out of the country over a five month period. Nasuf Nasufoglu, 40, from Istanbul, was targeted as part of an investigation by the joint National Crime Agency and Metropolitan Police Organised Crime Partnership. Nasufoglu was arrested on 27 September 2019 at the Port of Dover, where UK Border Force officers found six packages of cash hidden in fridge panels in his lorry totaling £264,050. A married woman who sexually abused a child and sent the images of it to her lover has been jailed for nine years, after a National Crime Agency (NCA) investigation. NCA officers arrested businesswoman Katie Weeks, 36, and Gareth Southcombe, 42, both of Poole, Dorset, in May 2018. Southcombe, who owns a boating company, had the abuse photos on his mobile phone, and his desktop computer also contained 14 category A (the most severe) indecent images of children (IIOC), 14 category B, 15 category C and 35 extreme images. Richard Swinnerton, 30, of Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, was charged with three counts of possession of illegal images of children relating to category A (the most severe), category B and category C.
