I am not sure whats more embarrassing for the officers, the fact a guy will a leg that was "close to being amputated" made off from officers or the fact that the Track and Attack dog was found with the offender wagging it's tail.

Delete if this has been posted already (i cant believe it hasnt if atopic on hats has been) I'd like to know what officers thought about this and the press reaction. A few things immediately annoy me about the way it is portrayed. It is not a machine gun it is a deactivated weapon that never was a machine gun and cant fire 800 rounds a minute unless an officer has some special super finger, not even when used by CO19 (although it could be changed back easily). As well as that they did not give him one - they let him hold a deactivated weapon. Also because Its been copy + [pasted onto here you cant tell but that headline is massive and in bold so any MoP will immediately…

Hi everyone Don't know if anyone has heard of this film, but its a Bollywood movie (in english) about a Muslim police officer following the events of 7/7 London bombings. Fictional of course. The copper is married to a white woman and has 2 kids. Should the police trust him because he is a Muslim? Should the Muslim community trust him because he is a police officer? Trailer looks really good. A definate must to watch.

Source: Evening Chronicle And the suns reporting The cop, a member of the Northumbria force, is one of the so-called Notorious Girls on a website run by Neil Lock and wife Natalie. The WPC is believed to be a hazel-eyed brunette who features on the site with the working name Kelly — but with her face blanked out. A source said: “It is amazing that a serving officer got mixed up in this. She must have known she was gambling with her career. Satisfaction "If she is found guilty in a court or of an internal disciplinary offence then she is finished. She could never work as an officer again.†The site boasts: “The Notorious Girls offer the finest value fo…

Special constable faces kidnap grilling Aug 24 2008 By Lynn Mcpherson Sunday mail A POLICE officer is being probed over claims he abducted a teenage theft suspect while off-duty. Special constable Raza Ahmed, 24, admits ordering the 13-year-old into his own car and driving him around. He claims the boy is a relative and he had the family's permission. But sources say the parents - who reported the incident to police - say he is nothing to do with them. Ahmed, who works in a call centre, hinted the boy would end up in police cells during his 45-minute ordeal. He picked him up after spotting him on the streets of the Woodlands area of Glasgow. Ahmed, based at …

Knives, a Taser gun, CS spray and a baseball bat were among the weapons seized during a strong police crackdown at this year's Notting Hill Carnival. Police clash with Notting Hill revellers Trouble flared on the final night after police fought running battles with bottle-throwing revellers. Several officers were injured after being hit by bottles thrown by a group of around 40 troublemakers. A total of 488 arrested were made during the event - 330 in the Notting Hill area and 158 around Oval. Chief Inspector Jo Edwards praised "proactive policing", including stop and search tactics, as authorities sought to avoid a repeat of the shootings and stabbings which had do…

Shoe fetish man tagged for attack A man with a shoe fetish who ripped a high heel from a teenager's foot has been electronically tagged. Mark Barrie, 35, from Perth, will wear the device on his ankle for three months and will not be allowed out between 2200 BST and 1000 BST. He was also placed on probation and his name has been added to the sex offenders register. Barrie admitted attacking the 18-year-old in January because he was "sexually excited" by the footwear. He targeted her in broad daylight in front of other shoppers in Perth. He claimed he had gone into a "trance" before pouncing on his victim and lying on the ground with his arms locked around he…

Lucy Phillips Publication date: 21 August 2008 Source: People Management magazine Training line managers to be NVQ assessors rather than employing specialists is to help West Midlands Police save £1 million a year. The strategy, which is being rolled out following a successful pilot, was developed by the force in response to a Home Office requirement in 2006 that all new police officers gain a level 3 or 4 NVQ in policing. With 560 student officers taken on every year, this presented a challenge. Nicola Davis, learning and development manager at West Midlands Police, told PM that using independent or formally “A1-qualified†assessors was not cost-effective, espe…

Another article on the impact of targets on modern policing; nothing that new here I'm afraid, much of this will sound wearily familiar to most. Fortunately there are several forces who are now trialling 'discretion' (sounds ridiculous when you put it like that -- the use of discretion is so basic to everyday policing) so this sort of target chasing should become less of an issue in future. I'm enough of a wishy-washy liberal to be horrified by some of the Ali G antics of our police Last updated at 1:34 AM on 22nd August 2008 One of the great mysteries of our age is why an organisation with the overtly racist name of the National Black Police Association is allowed to exist in modern Britain. I'm not claiming to be the first to make the point - and I won't be the last - but can you imagine the uproar if a group of officers got together and formed a National White Police Association? The comment pages of the Guardian would spontaneously combust with outrage, while the BBC would send undercover reporters with hidden cameras to infiltrate the organisation's…
