Telegraph Article The Swiss-made Strellson jacket, which was reduced from £200 to £59 at the discount clothing shop, has a metal chain with a Vecorinox officer’s knife on the end attached to the lining. Joan Holland, whose son Andrew was killed with a knife last year, said: “It’s horrendous. They’re promoting knife crime. “It’s sending the wrong message. The police say 'Don’t carry knives’, but TK Maxx sells them with a jacket. “Someone could get hurt. I hope whoever came up with that idea gets a big fine.†It is illegal to sell knives to under-18s. Steve Gale, 36, told The Sun newspaper when he came across the coat in his local branch in Farnbor…

Cannabis 'less harmful than drink Cannabis use is less harmful than drinking or smoking cigarettes and should be legalised, according to a new report. The Beckley Foundation's Global Cannabis Commission says banning the drug has backfired and calls for a "serious rethink" of drugs policy. The ban has had little or no impact on supply and has turned users in to criminals, they say. "Although cannabis can have a negative impact on health, including mental health, in terms of relative harms it is considerably less harmful than alcohol or tobacco," they write. "Historically there have only been two deaths worldwide attributed to cannabis, whereas alcohol and tobacco toget…

And as he shuffled along the pavement towards them there was one thing above all they deemed to pose a threat - his walking stick. The officers surrounded the retired classics teacher and informed him the 3ft wooden cane was an 'offensive weapon' and had to be confiscated. Mr Clarkson Webb d…

I found this an interesting case. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/c...icle4861271.ece Holocaust denial is not actually an offence in the UK. However the German European Arrest Warrant stands. An Australian teacher accused of denying the Holocaust was arrested on an EU warrant issued by Germany as he arrived in Britain today. Gerald Toben, 64, is accused of publishing "anti-Semitic and revisionist" material on the internet that denies or plays down the genocide of the Jews by the Nazis. Mr Toben is wanted by the German authorities who have issued a warrant for his arrest for acts committed in Germany, Australia and other countries. Holocaust d…
