Black police officers in spy claim Senior representatives of ethnic minority officers in the UK's largest force fear they are being spied on by their colleagues. Members the Metropolitan Black Police Association (MetBPA) said they have been forced to use counter surveillance tactics. Officers have purchased unregistered pay-as-you-go phones and had their offices swept for bugs to block eavesdropping. They also now only hold meetings at secret locations arranged at short notice away from police buildings to hinder possible onlookers. They fear senior Met figures will stop at nothing to undermine their organisation and its key members amid bitter accusations of racism a…

Source: MailOnline BLACK FARMER QUIZZED BY POLICE THREE TIMES ON SUSPICION OF STEALING FROM HIS OWN FIELD As a farmer, David Mwanaka believes he is unusual - one of only two black ones in the whole of Britain. In fact, he is such a rare sight that three times in five days he found himself being questioned by police who accused him of stealing crops. On one occasion, he claimed, four patrol cars turned up at the farm where he rents land to grow maize, pumpkins, sweet potatoes and sweetcorn. He said yesterday that he had been reported by people 'who are not used to seeing a black man working in a farmer's field'. Mr Mwanaka, 42, who is originally from Zimbabwe, was w…

Kerb-crawling and soliciting for prostitutes on the streets are to be outlawed as part of a wide ranging tightening of the law, the home secretary Jacqui Smith has annnounced. Warning of the "blight" of prostitution, Smith outlined a three-point plan at the Labour conference. It will: · Remove the requirement that only persistent kerb-crawlers and men who solicit for sex on the street can be prosecuted. An alternative requirement for kerb-crawlers -- that they act "in a manner that is likely to cause annoyance to people in the neighbourhood" -- is also to be removed. The changes will mean that kerb-crawlers and would-be punters on the street can be prosecuted after a …

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/new...hot_at_in_chase Another case of the police being shot at. This police force - or service as they prefer in these politically correct days - is a laughing stock. When will the Government realise a baton and CS will not deter these idiots. Even Taser is not good enough. The criminals are not remotely scared by the police anymore and worryingly, most do not seem remotely bothered about using increasing violence against us either. Just good fortune no one was killed.

A policeman has been jailed for a year for beating a man he wrongly thought had glassed his son. Former Det Con Patrick Lavelle used the police national computer to access the details of his son's attacker. He then broke into Andrew Harrop's address in Preston and punched a man asleep on the sofa - but Harrop was out and the victim was his flatmate. Lavelle, 48, admitted at Liverpool Crown Court to charges of assault and perverting the course of justice. Lavelle, who attends Alcoholics Anonymous, had been intending to attack Harrop, 22, but in fact beat up his flatmate Michael Jones. Put your hands up to glassing my mate. If you don't we are coming down to sort…

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lancashire/7636040.stm Just goes to show that the courts will come down harder on police officers who in a moment of madness do one stupid thing, yet the guy who glassed his son walked away with a community order. There is no doubt that this officer should have been punished severely for what he did but what about the real criminals who walk away time and again? This country has gone mad.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgo...est/7635885.stm A 16-year-old has admitted carrying out a series of sex attacks on women in Glasgow in less than three hours. At the High Court in Glasgow, Robert Thomson admitted eight charges, including indecent assault and assault to injury with intent to rape. The court heard how Thomson, who was 15 at the time of the attacks, was caught after police released a CCTV image. Lord Turnbull deferred sentence for reports and placed Thomson on the sex offenders register. The court heard that the majority of the attacks, which took place on 5 June, were sex assaults and that his victims were all aged between 20 and 35. …

Road deaths have fallen to their lowest level since records began in 1928, according to figures published by the Department for Transport. Last year a total of 2,946 people died - a 7% reduction on the previous year when 3,172 died. The statistics show loss of control of a vehicle was a factor in a third of all fatal road accidents in 2007. The figures also showed there were 247,780 road casualties - which is 4% fewer than in 2006. According to the statistics, factors in crashes involving younger drivers, particularly males, were more likely to relate to speed and behaviour. And contributory factors in cases involving older drivers were more likely to be related…

Black police 'are spied on' claim BBC News Senior members of the Met's Black Police Association (BPA) say they are concerned they are being spied on by fellow officers, the BBC has learnt. Some are so worried that they are taking counter-surveillance measures, such as having rooms "swept" for bugs. It is the latest twist in a bitter dispute between the Met and its prominent ethnic minority staff. A source said the BPA was fighting against attempts by the Met to "crush any challenge" to its authority. BBC correspondent Barnie Choudhury said the revelation the BPA suspected conversations were being monitored "shows the level of mistrust of the Metropolitan Police…

http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/video/Bounc...n-in.4521875.jp This is a new spray that is only being issued to professional security staff (and I think paramedics). It is only issued after a full day training course that covers circumstances in which it can be used and how to record evidence etc. As there have been instances of police wrongly confiscating various sprays because they think they're an offensive weapon I thought it would be good for people to view this to avoid future misunderstandings. The video is part of the official launch of the product.

Texting while driving impairs motorists more than being under the influence of drink or drugs, research suggests. The young motorists were tested while in a driving simulator The RAC Foundation found average reaction times slowed by 35% when 17 to 24-year-olds drove in a simulator while writing or reading texts. Nearly 50% of drivers aged between 18 and 24 texted while driving, it said. Previous studies had found reactions were 21% slower among those who had taken cannabis and 12% slower among those who had drunk to the legal limit. The texters also drifted out of lanes more and had poorer steering control. The overall driving performance was poor among those test…
