http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/7412057.stm This was tragic incident with devasting consequences for those involved. I went to the scene on monday night and have never been to such a depressing, sombre scene before. Not only do our thoughts go out to the family and friends of hayley adamson but also to the police officer who was just doing his job.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/staffordshire/7631896.stm "What we have done is take away from PCSOs and police officers a lot of the routine stuff that prevented them from being on patrol" just wondered if this is the case at any other forces? and if so how much less do you do compared to what you did.

Grimsby Telegraph It really doesn't surprise me that little scrotes like him continue to commit crime without a care in the world when the sentences handed out are an absolute joke.

Police officers 'stole wine from Marks and Spencer' Linky Way to set professional standards there, Inspector! (Edit: reading the article, I don't see how the bit about Insp. Torbet's daughter is relevant... Shame that they bring that sort of thing up.)

Priest jailed for sexual assaults William Green Green admitted 27 counts of sexual abuse A priest who sexually abused boys at a Catholic school over a 20 year period has been jailed for six years. William Green, 67, of Cale Lane, Aspull, Wigan, admitted 27 counts of sexual abuse on children aged between eight and 16, at a hearing in August. Green took physical education classes at St Bede's College in Alexandra Park, Manchester, when the assaults happened and also worked at other schools. From Police Oracle The number of complaints made about "stop-and-search" incidents have risen by nearly a quarter, the police watchdog has said. Police forces in England and Wales received 536 complaints about stop-and-search in the last financial year, up from 434, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said. Stop-and-search grievances made up 3% of complaints by black people, the report revealed. Opponents of stop-and-search say it unfairly targets minority groups, but the recent spate of high-profile knife crimes has led to greater use of the powers. Figures released earlier this year showed police carried out 955,000 stop-and-searches in 2006/07, up …

The Northampton Cron A taxi had to be ordered to collect some clothes for a prisoner so his human rights would not be breached – costing taxpayers £70.Prison staff at HMP Woodhill, near Milton Keynes, sent Barry McGlone, 20, to the hearing wearing the high-visibility "escape suit". Charged with escaping, he was made to wear the harlequin "clown suit", reserved for offenders who have a history of escape, yet was provided with no alternative clothing. When McGlone did arrive at court, GSL security staff would not allow him off the prison van wearing the suit, as it amounted to "a breach of his human rights" and "broke the rules". The costly hearing was about to be ad…

A bidder, who bought the camera for £17 on the auction website, discovered photos of terror suspects, their names and fingerprints and even images of rocket launchers and missiles. The 28-year-old from Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, only found the secret images when he downloaded his own holiday snaps from the Nikon Cool Pix device. He told local police about the find and was shocked when Special Branch officers arrived at his home days later to seize his new purchase. Officers have made five visits to his home in the last week to quiz him and his family, The Sun newspaper reported. A Foreign Office spokeswoman conf…

Well, America is in serious turmoil at the moment and Bush sure ended up with egg on his face by failing at his job as President. If you can't even convince your own party members what is the best thing for the economy, then who else can he convince. But on the other hand, why should the American public have to pay for the financial mess created by the big chiefs at the the top of the finance industry. Such juicy drama.... http://www.abcnews.go.com/Politics/Persona...8546&page=1

Motorway police have had to deal with two women spotted walking down the central reservation of the M6. The women, twin sisters from Sweden, ran in front of oncoming traffic after wrestling with the police. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7636577.stm

But will that stop unauthorised information like below sliiping into there hands???. A private investigator is to face trial for getting unauthorised information from a police database. Anthony Griffiths, 57, of Dundonald Heights, was charged after a police officer was suspected of passing on personal details without permission. Details on vehicle ownerships, job history and pr…
