I have just read that this years pay deal has been agreed by the fed. Dont get me wrong iam pleased that the deal will be back dated to 1st sept but iam disgusted at the actual amount (2.65%, when inflation has just been recorded as 5.2%) yet again we take a pay cut in real terms. What iam also disgusted at is the fact that the fed have rolled over yet again and accepted a disgraceful 3year pay deal( 2.65% 2008, 2.6% 2009, 2.55% 2010) it seems that this was the agrement made to keep the PNB, Can anyone tell me when the rank and file members of the fed ever agreed , or were consulted, into accepting a 3 year pay deal.

Police chief Richard Brunstrom wants 'police' removing from patrol cars Richard Brunstrom, chief constable of North Wales, has called for the word "police" to be removed from his force's patrol cars. He wants the vehicles to be marked only by the Welsh equivalent, "heddlu", to prevent them being regarded as symbols of oppression. At present panda cars and vans in his area display both versions. Mr Brunstrom told a conference on language "reconciliation" that in the past the police were seen in North Wales as "an English-speaking army of occupation." "I would like to remove the word Police from the back of the police cars. I think it should be Heddlu," he said. The c…

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/new..._over_bnp_badge This is a strange story. Everybody knows that being in the BNP & also a Police Officer are not allowed. The story says he wore a badge, and was not a member of the BNP. Have I misunderstood? Whilst his actions may have been very stupid, in light of the clear position on the BNP, he does not appear to have breached the regs. Although I may disagree with his politics, it is a slippery slope to target those who have views that do not match the party line.

"POLICE are being told to use convicted criminals as key advisers on major operations One of their main roles would be to help smooth over tensions within communities. They would also have access to information on serious crimes such as terrorism, murder and drug dealing. The crooks could even sit in on pre-raid briefings or join the most senior commanders dealing with live incidents. Official advice warns police chiefs to exercise caution over any vetting – so as not to offend other potential advisers such as gypsies and migrants. The guidance, published yesterday, centres on how to set up and manage independent advisory groups, established after the inquiry i…

BBC NewsI've noticed the difference between two main closing times where I'm based. The 11pm one seems to mainly the older people who like a few drinks and stumble home singing drunken songs. The 2am crowd are a completely different kettle of fish and seem to want to fight the whole world on their own because they don't know when to stop drinking.!!
