Muslim police anger over leaflet Muslim police leaders are demanding to know why no action has been taken over a leaflet which blames Muslims for the heroin trade. The leaflet, distributed to hundreds of households in parts of Lancashire, Cumbria and Yorkshire, says people should "heap condemnation" on Muslims. The Crown Prosecution Service said there was not enough proof it was meant to stir up racial or religious hatred. The National Association of Muslim Police said the CPS advice was flawed. No criminal act The leaflet says Muslims are "almost exclusively responsible" for the manufacture, transport and sale of heroin, 95% of which it says comes from the A…

Jack Thomson used his mother's mobile to call the emergency services and told them she was lying sick in the hallway and his father was at work. The phone then cut-out. Undeterred, the youngster found another mobile and dialled 999 again. He was unable to say where he lived but the second call enabled operators to trace his location in Lochgelly, Fife. The three-year-old was at home with his sisters Holly, two, and baby Kirsty when his mother became ill. FOUR teenagers were horrifically slain by Satanists — stabbed 666 times each and then EATEN. Horrified cops found body parts dumped in a pit beside an upside-down cross, a symbol used in Satanic worship. The victims all suffered 666 knife wounds — the number associated with the Beast, or Antichrist, and featured in horror films such as The Omen. The pals, three girls and a boy aged 16 or 17, were all Goths. They were lured one by one to a cottage and forced to get drunk before being butchered. Hair from them was found in the embers of a fire the gang lit under a tree. Police believe the teenagers were cooked in the flames before their flesh was devoured. Their p…

BBC news Liberal Democrat home affairs spokesman Chris Huhne has set out his vision for tackling crime, calling for better policing rather than tougher sentences. At the party conference he attacked both Labour and the Conservatives for what he called "punishment posturing". He said people should not be sent to jail for minor offences when other punishments would be more effective. Resources must be directed towards more effective policing and detection rather than more prisons, Mr Huhne added. 'Tough choices' In his speech, he said the crime debate "was totally removed from reality" and accused Labour of creating 3,600 new offences since 1997 - a form of "legislati…
