I was sent this link in a PM today, asking my opinion about double standards. I could use some enlightened views before I respond. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/search.html?searchPhrase=police+credit+card

Long-serving police officer Alfie Moore has turned to stand-up comedy to highlight the absurdities of modern policing. The 43-year-old sergeant with Humberside Police is performing a three-week run at the Edinburgh Fringe. His show Laughter Police looks at the bureaucracy and oversensitive political correctness which he says is hampering the ability to catch criminals. He also calls for people to take more personal responsibility. Sgt Moore, who has 17 years on the force, admits that being a police officer is not always as glamorous as he had hoped it would be. He said car chases were a rarity due to the force's "no chase policy". Although he added that with Hu…

The Lockerbie bomber has left Scotland on board a plane bound for Libya after being freed from prison on compassionate grounds. Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi, 57, was jailed in 2001 for the atrocity which claimed 270 lives in 1988. The decision to release Megrahi, who has terminal prostate cancer, was made by the Scottish Government. The White House said it "deeply regretted" the decision and some of the US victims' families reacted angrily. Some 189 Americans were among those who died in the explosion http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/south_...and/8197370.stm It must have been one hell of a hard decision to make. Fat-bottomed smuggler seized Customs officers arrested a smuggler with six and a half kilos of cocaine hidden in his shorts after becoming suspicious of his big bum. Officials at El Prat de Llobregat airport, Barcelona, forced him to strip and found specially made pants with dozens of tiny pockets sewn in to hold the drugs. The green neoprene pants contained more than 160 pockets for canisters of cocaine. Drugs investigators were determined to get to the bottom of it when they noticed the smugglers huge backside as he waddled through the airport. "He wasn't a big man but he has a very bulky rear end and was walking very strangely," said a spokesman. "Then we saw th…

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/devon/8204033.stm Burglars have attacked an 88-year-old Devon woman, ransacking her home and leaving her lying on the floor with a broken hip. Unfreakinbelievable, The good news is, if they get caught, or hopefully when they get caught, there will be several hours community service waiting for them.
