More than 30 police officers were injured in clashes or accidents during protests at the G20 summit in London, new figures show. The injuries ranged from being hit by flying debris, attacked by protesters or crushed in crowds to dog bites and being scalded while making a hot drink. Officers from four forces were involved in the two-day operation in April. Inquiries have been held amid claims of brutality but police chiefs have said their tactics were "proportionate". Last month Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary said the Metropolitan Police's planning for the G20 protests was inadequate, although it had responded well to some challenges. One man - newspaper s…

A Northern Ireland politician has called for an urgent meeting with the Chief Constable, Sir Hugh Orde, after sensitive documents were found at a building site. Upper Bann MP David Simpson said he wanted to discuss data handling practices within the PSNI following the discovery of a file containing background security checks on some 60 people this week. The DUP man said he was “horrified†that such sensitive details were dumped in a building site skip in Belfast city centre. He said: “I am very concerned that this skip could have contained as many as 40 files which witnesses have indicated seemed to be of a similar nature. This is one of the worst data handling err…

A nine-year-old girl was found strangled in a lorry cab shortly before police discovered a man hanged in nearby woodland. Police had been alerted after the truck's owners reported the vehicle missing on Saturday afternoon. The Spar delivery vehicle was then traced to a lorry park on the A605 near Warmington in Northamptonshire. The girl and the man cannot be named at this stage but police said the man was the partner of the girl's mother. A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "Both bodies were taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary last night so that forensic post mortems could be carried out. This is a tragic incident for two families and we are working closely w…

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/...vice-squad.html A HOOKER lured a man to a brothel to rob him - then found he headed the Met Police's Vice Squad. The other day whilst waiting for the arrival of the Police due to a break in across the road from my pad, i was asked to move on. You can`t f----ing stand here i was told, when asking why, this person replied, your bad for trade. Hookers seem to have a lot of bottle. I asked her to wait around, as the next vehicle along might wish to chat with her. She seemed most interested till she saw the next vehicle. She moved on in a hurry. :clapping:

We all have heard the glamorization from the newspapers about how wrong the Police were on the subject of the G20, now from the other side, the side that most tend to forget, and the side that i have far more compassion for. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8229171.stm More than 30 police officers were injured in clashes or accidents during protests at the G20 summit in London, new figures show. I do hope that during the duration of time, since the g20 riots these Officers are now ok. "An officer from the Met - which had 18 injuries overall - suffered one of the most serious when he was hit by a piece of wood as demonstrators stormed a branch of the Royal Bank of Scotlan…

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/wear/8228302.stm PCSO foils masked robbers' plans Police believe a potential robbery was foiled when an officer on a routine patrol spotted two masked men parked in a car in County Durham. The suspects, wearing plastic masks, fled as a police community support officer (PCSO) approached their Skoda Fabia in Quarry Lane, Stanley. They drove off down Shield Row Bank on Tuesday morning and the car later collided with a Range Rover. Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to contact them. Det Insp Brad Howe, of Durham Police, said: "It would seem whatever they were planning was prevented just in time. Woods escape "It i…
