http://www.out-law.com/page-10237 OUT-LAW News, 05/08/2009 Police officers should 'exercise caution' when asking to view images captured by members of the media according to amended advice to officers published by London's police force, the Metropolitan Police Service. The Met faced criticism from the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) last month when it published guidance that did not recognise the special rights of the media. The guidance now makes it clear that a court order could be needed to view images captured by members of the media and warns officers to be careful. "Where it is clear that the person being searched is a journalist, of…

Published Date: 16 August 2009 TWO people have been arrested and part of the M1 closed after a bus stolen from Wakefield was taken on a terror ride. The single decker Arriva bus - which had no passengers on when taken from the city centre at about 4.20pm on Sunday August 16 - collided with a shop, vehicles, members of the public and at least one police car as it was driven through Wakefield, Ossett, Dewsbury, Batley, Horbury and Netherton before going on to the M1 at Junction 39. A West Yorkshire Police helicopter and cars chased the bus and as it turned onto the motorway officers managed to burst one of its tyres. The bus driver then crashed into the central carriag…

Quelle surprise!! Defoe has Mr Loop Hole as he is know to represent him. http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2009/au...e-police-advice Chief constables across England and Wales have been told to ignore a landmark ruling by the European court of human rights and carry on adding the DNA profiles of tens of thousands of innocent people to a national DNA database. I care not much if Police have the database, but this is one in the eye for the Human rights lot. :clapping: :clapping:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/8207809.stm A woman made a desperate 999 call as masked men wielding baseball bats and a machete burst into her bedroom and attacked her in Manchester. Not often the Police put out 999 calls into the media, and is it not wonderful as to how quickly the police have made these arrests!! :smiley_notworthy: :smiley_notworthy: :smiley_notworthy: :smiley_notworthy:

What do you make of this story? I know police officers can stop any car they want but isn't this open to abuse. After all its quite easy to see someone's ethnicty through a window. I'm aware that the police say they were focusing on expensive cars but surely they should have a better reason to stop or at least the law should be changed to make them have a better reason. It seems to be something of an anti-wealthy people policy. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8205992.stm

I hope who ever is doing this will be caught quickly and brought to justice!
