POLICE officers in Hampshire have been banned from listening to the radio in their offices because they're breaking the law. The force-wide ban has been put in place with immediate effect by the Deputy Chief Constable Simon Cole, who has ordered that TVs and DVD players are also removed unless being used for operational reasons. Dep Chief Con Cole broke the news to staff in an email after other forces, in particular Wiltshire, were approached by the Performing Right Society who demand a 'substantial' licence fee for public broadcasts. The force took legal advice which stated that use of a radio or TV in a multi-occupancy office amounts to a public broadcast and ther…

Im all for the use of CCTV cameras to help in the prosecution of offenders, but is this UAV one step too far?? There are already over 5 million CCTV cameras in Britain alone and I think I am right in thinking that Britain is the most watched country in Europe?, now these virtually silent UAV machines are up in the sky filming me? Im not sure I agree personally I think the concept is brilliant and will save forces money by perhaps not haveing the ASU overhead at festivals etc, but is this taking the Big brother Britan too far?? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/devon/8201004.stm Police detainees are being asked to complete "customer satisfaction" surveys about their time in cells. 42nd question. Did you enjoy the full body search? I am guessing the people who tend to get locked up do not like the Police, so i doubt this survey will be at all helpful. Not to mention a waste of money.

A Metropolitan Police officer has died while diving off the Sussex coast. The 57-year-old officer was one of two men who had to make a rapid ascent after getting into difficulties while diving on Saturday afternoon.
