The 53-year-old man and retired 62-year-old man were held on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Shane Oldroyd, 27, of Ossett, stole the single-decker Arriva bus from Wakefield bus station in August because he needed to get home and had no money. Judge Kerry Macgill told Leeds Crown Court Oldroyd was guilty of "wicked, dangerous and reckless" driving. He was jailed indefinitely to serve at least three-and-a-half years.     Two police forces in the north-east of England have finalised plans to create a joint firearms unit. The Durham and Cleveland forces say the move, to create a team of about 100 officers, will streamline firearms capabilities and reduce costs. Joint cross border working is due to begin in April 2010. The forces are also planning to combine road policing teams from the autumn of next year and are looking at ways of further sharing resources.
