An escaped prisoner has celebrated his first Christmas on the run by brazenly taunting police with photos of himself posing alongside a roast turkey. Craig 'Lazie' Lynch, 28, has been on the run from Suffolk's Hollesley Bay Prison since September but rather than hide from police he has regularly updated them on his movements via Facebook. A father-of-one who told yobs to stop throwing snowballs at his window was viciously attacked and left for dead on his own doorstep. One man died and another was left critically ill in a hit-and-run collision in Kent during which it is thought a shot was fired. Police were called on Sunday night to Quarry Road, Maidstone, where they found two men with critical injuries. One of the men later died in hospital and Kent Police are trying to trace the vehicle involved, which is thought to have been a Land Rover. A carer who betrayed the trust of her disabled clients by stealing their jewellery and fraudulently cashing a cheque has received a prison sentenced at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court. Catherine Deans, aged 29, from Lismore Park, Slough, was sentenced to a total of 40 weeks' imprisonment on Thursday (17/12), after entering guilty pleas to two counts of theft and one of fraud by false representation. The sentences are to run concurrently, meaning an effective sentence of 16 weeks in jail. Deans was arrested in December 2008, following an investigation by Burnham CID.
