Notts Chief Constable Julia Hodson is understood to have drafted in officers from other policing teams into CID over recent months after receiving an email from one detective constable saying he was so overworked and under supervised, and had not seen his wife and children for so long, that he was considering taking his own life. http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/news/Not...il/article.html Overworkwed officers must be a really issue across the country,if this sort of thing is replicated across the Country than i for 1 cannot see how the Police can cut the numebr of officers, and still think they can cope.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/8285952.stm A Sikh police officer who was told to remove his turban during riot training has won his discrimination case against Greater Manchester Police. Pc Singh, who is based at Wythenshawe Police Station, had already told his superiors that he would not remove the turban on religious grounds, but was orde…

http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/busi...icle7029809.ece Two thirds of jurors do not understand what judges tell them about the law when they retire to consider their verdicts, according to a ground-breaking study into the secrets of the jury room. The findings will trigger an overhaul of the courts. Few surprises here i find. 1) "all-white juries do not discriminate against black defendants;" that kind of surprises me. 2)"Two thirds of jurors do not understand what judges tell them about the law when they retire to consider their verdicts," I thought that number would be higher, how many out there no anything about the law, and hence would probably not fully un…

He'd been my lover and he got Aids. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/notting...ire/8516499.stm What is remarkable about this story is it seems the Police were not aware of this incident, but noq they are because the BBC man has revelaed it to the whole Country.

Police officers in Leicestershire are to display their full names on their uniform as part of a project to boost public trust. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/leicest...ire/8443432.stm Much better, now i trust the Police. And i expect to make sure the police can trust us MOP`s, we should be obliged to wear name tags too. I would have thought a certain amount of anonymity would be more conducive to to the job, but what do i know.
