http://www.btp.presscentre.com/Media-Relea...-YEARS-da4.aspx John-Jo Madden, 18, of Gospel Oak, north-west London, appeared at Hendon Magistrates Court for sentencing in relation to the attack, which happened at Cricklewood station on Sunday 4 October last year. In addition to the ban, Madden was handed a three-month jail term, suspended for two years, and 150 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £1200 in compensation to the Guide Dogs Association and a further £500 to the owner of the guide dog. Madden was charged under the Dangerous Dogs Act (in possession of a dangerous dog, out of control in a public place) following his arrest in December after a pu…

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/feb/2...-harriet-harman David Cameron's communications director, Andy Coulson, today came under fresh pressure to defend his editorship of the News of the World and his knowledge about the illegal activities of his journalists amid new allegations about the paper's involvement with private detectives who broke the law The story is at best boring IMO, but it does bring up a question. Has anyone you have arrested attempted to bribe you? I will send you a fiver for a reply.

Greater Manchester Police Authority has no ‘clear vision’ of policing and is not doing enough to scrutinise the performance of its force, according to a report. The watchdog has been given a score of two out of four by inspectors who said its performance was only ‘adequate’. It was criticised for not setting challenging targets to improve police performance and for not having a ‘diverse’ make-up of members. GMP’s results in tackling ‘volume crime’ such as burglary and car theft are among the worst in the country. The report by the Audit Commission and Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary says the authority is ‘performing poorly’ in making…

Across Great Britain in the year ending September 2009, 200,444 people were stopped under Section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000, a 12 per cent fall on the previous year. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/...gs-to-bake.html A POLICE dog handler whose Alsatians died after being left seven hours in his car as temperatures hit 82°F was yesterday let off with a conditional discharge. Unlike what i heard on radio last night i believe this Officer. Plus, if we can allow http://www.ukpoliceonline.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=40277 i see no reason this Officer should not be allowed to get away with it. I am also betting this Officer was heartbroken, Officers in this line of work, do love their animals.

The "jammers" put out radio signals at the same frequency at the Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites, overwhelming the timing signal that in-car devices use to plot their position. That means a tracker device built into a lorry with a valuable load, or a car with an anti-theft GPS device which should report its position if stolen, cannot distinguish the correct GPS signal. "It disappears from the radar," said Professor David Last, of the University of Wales at Bangor, who has been a police expert witness in a number of cases over the past 18 months in which GPS jammers have been seized. Some German drivers are also believed to use such jammers to try to evade GPS…
