A police football team has been suspended from a league - for not paying its fines. Bosses at the Manchester FA booted the police team out for failing to cough up after two players were booked for showing dissent to the referee. The team - Greater Manchester Police's A Division side which is made up of bobbies from Bootle Street station in the city centre - was fined £20 for each yellow card at a match in December. But despite repeated attempts by officials to make the team pay, the fines remain outstanding almost four months later. FA bosses slapped the team with a further £40 penalty for non-payment and suspended it from the GMP League on January 19. It has not p…

The Association of Police Authorities (APA) is highlighting its views on a range of significant policing issues, in the run-up to the general election. These include support for strong and robust accountability to local people, coupled with a clear opposition to political control of policing, which could mean local police working to the whims of one interest group or political party. Police Authorities are made up of local people comprising a mixture of councillors, magistrates and independent members. Police Authorities are responsible for setting the budget for their police force, including raising local council taxes for policing consulting and engaging with local com…

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12...l#ixzz0kBnPsaGG A tragic story in itself. Reason thou for bringing this up is the picture below. Has any Officer on here been asked to stand outside a crime scene, and is this thee most boring job on the long list of jobs within the Police? A leaked dossier has revealed that a justice system which swallows unprecedented sums of money is failing to catch or properly punish millions of criminals. The Government audit shows that Labour's criminal justice spending is the highest in Europe at £18.2billion a year. Some £1billion of that is lavished on 'overheads' alone. But the dossier, compiled jointly by the Home Office, Ministry of Justice and Attorney General's Office, reveals that here were 4.7million crimes last year but only 1,376,994 offenders were 'brought to justice'. Labour's criminal justice spending is the highest in Europe at £18.2 billion a year. (Posed by models) It says the number of cr…
