A teenager who was stabbed to death in front of his parents was the victim of mistaken identity, neighbours said today. Aamir Siddiqi, 17, answered the door to two masked men yesterday and was stabbed in the neck. The A-level student's parents are understood to have heard his screams and rushed out to find him lying in a pool of blood in their front garden. As they tried to help him, the couple were also attacked. Armed police today launched a manhunt for two Asian men in their 20s who fled the scene in Roath, Cardiff. One shocked neighbour said: 'We've heard the men were looking for another Asian family living nearby and Aamir was the victim of mistaken identity.' …

But this week, the teenager was finally remanded in custody after pleading guilty to attempted burglary on January 5. Wernham, from Chelmsford, Essex, admitted a string of offences, targeting homes, pubs and even a church, in October last year which began when he was just 12 years old. One of Britain's top racehorse trainers has been robbed of £100,000 in an armed raid on his home. Howard Johnson, 56, was reading the newspaper at his farm outside Crook, County Durham, when two men in balaclavas broke down his front door and forced him to open his safe. The robbers, armed with a revolver and a 7in knife, smashed their way into his home at about 10.30pm. Trainer Howard Johnson, pictured here with racehorses Tidal Bay (left) and Inglis Drever in 2008, said he was 'terrified' by the £100,000 raid on his home in County Durham Mr Johnson, who trains horses for Tyneside multi-millionaire Graham Wylie, had just returned from Aintree where his horse Royal…

A former Royal Navy seaman has been given an Asbo – to stop him swearing at politicians when they appear on his TV or on the radio. Martin Solomon, 64, has already spent the past two weeks in prison waiting to be sentenced after admitting he had breached a previous Asbo by shouting and swearing loudly in his home in Stroud, Gloucestershire, and disturbing his neighbours last month. Appearing at Gloucester Crown Court, Solomon said he was sorry for his outbursts, which he said were prompted by politicians speaking on TV programmes. He also promised to avoid General Election coverage. ‘I am sorry, I have nothing against my neighbours at all,’ he told the court. ‘…

A 26-year-old man was stripped naked, covered with white paint and then tortured to death after asking a young mother out on a date. Shaun Fitton was overheard flirting with 22-year-old Rebecca Birt at a party by her boyfriend Shaun Beatty, who seized Fitton and began assaulting him. The entire attack, - inculding an horrific sexual assault which left Fritton with fatal internal injuries - was filmed on a camcorder by Birt. She can be heard laughing and encouraging others to continue the torture in the tape. Fitton was eventually dropped head first and naked into a wheelie bin before being hauled around the streets. Police officers found him screaming in agony and co…

I’m not sure where this one sits best - News or General Recruitment. I found this link on another posting and without commenting on a specific case I was intrigued as to what people’s thought were as to what edge (if any) should being an insider or knowing one give you. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/north_y...ire/8586872.stm If you’re worth your salt you should get to know when the recruitment drive is going to happen, and if you’re staff or a PCSO and on-duty when the phone lines open what do you do, take a day off and take pot-luck with everyone else? And when you start filling in the form is asking a serving officer in the next office for a bit of hel…

A bag-snatcher on a bicycle pinched a bag of poo from an elderly dog-walker in Worthing. (read more here) I'd love him to get done for theft as well - that'd be the funniest thing this side of Monty Python.

A judge has criticised a police force for concentrating on harassing motorists rather than dealing with serious crime. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12...l#ixzz0keS3saJh We have many odd judges, IMO this is one of them. Harassing drivers is always the way to go. Most are criminals anyway, phone use whilst driving, drunk driving, lack of insurance, this list goes on. Seems like he was in a mood of attacking the Police, why not i will happily attack most judges decisions.
