Two boys fatally beat a pensioner outside a south London mosque Two teenage members of a "happy slapping" gang who fatally beat a retired care worker in front of his young granddaughter in south London have been detained. Ekram Haque, 67, was attacked in August 2009 in Tooting as he left a mosque. He died from his injuries a week later. Woman Jailed 7 Years After Crimes A woman has been jailed for two street robberies in Derby - seven years after the offences took place thanks to forensic evidence. Lindsey Hawkridge (45) of Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth was jailed for 18 months at Derby Crown Court on July 21st 2010. She carried out two offences in Derby in April 2003. A former Metropolitan Police Commissioner has said police officers should be treated like other citizens in criminal investigations. Lord Blair's comments came after was asked on BBC Radio 4 about the death of Ian Tomlinson, who was pushed over by a police officer at the G20 protests. A Surrey Police officer has been suspended after being charged with drug dealing. The force said Pc Dustin Hunter had been accused of one count of possessing class B drugs with intent to supply. The 29-year-old has been bailed and will appear at Brent Magistrates Court in London on Thursday 28 January. Surrey Police said Pc Hunter, who is normally based at Banstead Police Station, had been suspended from duty pending the result of the case. A Surrey Police spokeswoman said the drug in question was cannabis. Source: BBC News
