    A police officer who supplied a contact with a book of intelligence on rival drug dealers has been jailed for four years, it can now be revealed. Philip Berry, of Bolton, who worked for Greater Manchester Police (GMP), passed the information to Gary Knox. Berry, 43, admitted offences including conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office and was jailed in March. Reporting restrictions were lifted as Knox, 34, of Bolton, was jailed for the same offence in Manchester. He was sentenced to six years in prison at the city's Minshull Street Crown Court. Berry was a member of the Bolton drugs squad but was redeployed as a uniformed officer in October 2007. Police said …

Former L/Cpl Mark Aspinall had been ejected from a nightclub in Wigan when special constable Peter Lightfoot and two officers tried to arrest him. It was found at about 0715 BST on Wednesday.
