A number of police officers were surrounded and beaten up as they fought running battles with thugs until the early hours. Shops and cars were vandalised, and the city was strewn with broken glass and litter. The thugs, who appeared at Manchester Crown Court, were all snared after footage of the chaos was captured by reporters, CCTV cameras, and users of social media sites like YouTube. Officers pored through 5,000 hours of footage for evidence to charge the offenders, most of whom were Glasgow Rangers supporters rioting in the Piccadilly Gardens, Newton Street and Market Street parts of town One of the louts shouted "**** Manchester, **** Pc Regan and **** Pc Goodwi…

I wonder if the facebook people who supported Raoul Moat will now make an appology or turn to the old classic line of "police closing ranks". It seems whatever the results the Police will still look bad even though there were trying to save this mo…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1308347/Thousands-police-officers-complaints-them.html?ito=feeds-newsxml I've had more than 3 over the past year. All of them nonsense. Never even get to the interview stage. And as usual badly worded and made up crap by the Wail! Police have also been under fire for refusing to log complaints made by upset members of the public. Last year it emerged officers had been wrongly writing-off thousands of vicious assaults and thefts as 'no crime'. This happens when police dismiss a person's report of a crime without even making cursory inquiries. In effect, they take a decision the victim is wrong, or lying. Grrrrrr!

High tech driving aids required for the 'Keystone Kops' who have forgotten how to park By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 6:14 PM on 31st August 2010 Comments (0) Add to My Stories You might hope that the police officers racing to crime scenes with sirens wailing and blue lights flashing were better-than-average drivers. Apparently not. Not, at least, according to South Yorkshire Police: They are buying expensive high tech parking sensors for their squad cars because police drivers are forever damaging their vehicles while parking. Often incidents happened as staff tried to reverse in police station yards, damaging two vehicles at …

The winner of a council by-election in Kent has resigned just 13 days after being elected. David Craggs, a special constable, stood down from Medway Council after being told by Kent Police his political appointment was a conflict of interest. Mr Craggs, who was elected to represent Medway's River ward, said he checked before standing for election and had been given the all-clear. His Conservative colleagues said his resignation was unnecessary. Mr Craggs, who has been a volunteer police officer for 17 years, said: "Prior to standing for election, I checked with advice published by Medway Council, Kent Police and the NPIA (National Police Improvement Agency)... "The a…

The officers had stopped the vehicle after watching it being driven erratically on Hale Road at about 0215 BST. A police officer has been cleared of causing death by dangerous driving after it emerged experts used the wrong vehicle in a vital reconstruction. The case against Pc John Hannan, 32, dramatically collapsed yesterday when the trial judge ordered the jury to return a not guilty verdict. Pc Hannan was driving a police Transit van to reports of a serious disturbance when it collided with a Seat Ibiza in a 30mph zone. The prosecution claimed Pc Hannan was travelling at 58mph in the moments before the impact – 8mph above police guidelines for rapid-response driving. But Judge Timot…
