One local businessman reported seeing gunmen being chased by police and three men being arrested at about 1300 GMT. A force spokesman confirmed there had been a "serious incident". http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-11759572 A boy left severely brain damaged in a collision with a police car has been awarded substantial damages. Greg Love - then aged 13 - was cycling to his Bournemouth home in December 2006 when he was hit by the car, which was attending an emergency call. The 17-year-old's family began a legal bid for compensation from Dorset Police Authority, which settled out of court for an undisclosed sum. Dorset Police said it "deeply regretted" the incident. An Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) investigation in May 2008 found that the police driver was not to blame. The family's solicitors issued a High Court writ …

This sort of behaviour makes me wonder why someone who is a senior special would do this, I am really pleased Hatton has been jailed. A disgraced special constable has been jailed for 18 months for offences against a 14-year-old schoolgirl he was accused of grooming. Stephen Hatton, 55, a lorry driver from Yeovil, Somerset, was seen giving the girl a kiss in the street near her home by the girl's sister, Taunton Crown Court was told. Hatton maintained he had simply given her a friendly hug goodbye but the girl's father had already grown suspicious after the defendant posted a suggestive comment about a photograph of her. Her family had been unsure how to deal with the…

Prosecutors said she hid Max Factor foundation under some bags. Mrs Molloy, 45, who is currently suspended from her job, denies a single charge of theft. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-11811799 The Metropolitan Police's Operation Trident could be broken up as the force looks to save money in the government's Spending Review. The unit, which investigates gun crime in London's African-Caribbean community, may be merged with other squads to cut costs. The Trident independent advisory group, which monitors the unit's work, was told the news three weeks ago. The Met said no decision has been made, but no department was "sacrosanct". Claudia Webbe, who leads the advisory group, said she had been warned "nothing is off the table". But she said: "To even think about breaking it up would be sacrilege. Any impact …

Source: BBC News Strange that "Anti-terror police" are involved, that is quite a secluded area. I guess only time will tell what has happened, but usually these things are unexploded bombs from WWII.

A minister was under fire last night for claiming there was no simple link between police numbers and the level of crime. Read more: http://www.dailymail...l#ixzz161IVvpTT Do they make it up as they go along. Going along these lines, if the Police force were disbanded, the level of crime might stay the same or even fall. In short, this minister has said, it is the Polices fault we have crime. (Well if he can make it up so can i)

Det Con Daren Pooley, 41, was one of a number of officers sent on a long-term deployment to Leeds following the terrorist attacks in London in 2005. But he tried to make a "quick profit" out of his employers in a property scam, Southwark Crown Court heard. Pooley and his wife Nicola, 37, were convicted of conspiracy to defraud Three 7 July suicide bombers, Mohammed Siddique Khan, Shehzad Tanweer and Hasib Hussain were from Leeds. http://rt.com/Top_News/2010-11-06/britain-deaths-police-crime.html RT is an English-speaking arm of the Russian state media, aimed primarily at the UK. Just lol at bias and the fact that Russia is accusing British police of brutality. I am aware that sudden deaths in police custody following arrests are high, but isn't this a medical phoenomenon which is seen in most countries, rather than specific to Britain?
