HI, IS ANYONE OUT THERE CURRENTLY BEING LOOKED AT FOR MEDICAL/ILL-HEALTH RETIRMENT?? I HAVE BEEN ON RESTRICTED DUTY FOR FOUR YEARS AND HAVE CURRENTLY BEEN EXAMINED BY THE SMP. ITS BEEN A NIGHTMARE THE WHOLE THING WHAT EXPERIENCES HAVE OTHERS HAD? THERES VERY LITTLE INFO OUT THERE, AND LOTS OF DOORS GETTING SHUT IN MY FACE WHEN I STRAT ASKING QUESTIONS. . I KNOW AT THE END OF THE DAY IT BOILS DOWN TO MONEY AND NOT SO MUCH MY WELFARE. ANYONE ELSE??

I've been seconded to a post in London for the last three years. In all probability, i'll be here for the next three which brings me up to retirement. I've been advised from some quarters that the London Weighting Allowance I currently recieve is pensionable. However, I'm sure I've previously seen a HO paper stating that it isn't for seconded officers. Can anyone advise me whether it is or isn't pensionable for secondees. Thanks

Can any pensioned officers give me any information on the competence of the above to administer Met pensions, and any difficulties anyone has had in their dealings with them.

Has anyone successfully transferred their pension out of the UK?? I am still awaiting a response from Logica who handle the Met pensions. I have a 17 yr pension which was obviously frozen when I left. I know I can move it into a private scheme but was wondering about moving it overseas (Canada) has anyone in a similar situation done this...?? I am posting this to request advice. I am currently paying my ex wife maintenance through CSA. I am due to retire in 3 years which will be after my CSA/maintenance obligations are complete. I may be medically pensioned off due to a recent change in health and would qualify for a full pension. I have searched the net but have found nothing to assist me. My questions are: 1. Can the CSA take some of my commutation ( I gave up everything 7 years ago in a court settlement to protect my pension which was upheld by the judge ) and give it to my ex. 2. how does the police pension scheme work. if i chose to join the scheme and pay in the 9.5% then would i still have to pay the NI at 9% as well. because if i pay into the police scheme then i dnt see the pint of paying for in the NI, its one or the other not both, as both will mean 20% gone

Are you retired and have time to spare? German Shepherd Dog Rescue needs volunteers to help, especially with transport( moving dogs to a new home) and with dog assessments. I retired 5 years ago and have recently become the South of England Area coordinator. It is extremely satisfying stuff although the catch is the word 'volunteer'. I have read with interest the movement of UK police officers to Canada. I am interested in the reverse. I have 28 years experience with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police ( I was young when I joined). I am only one generation removed form Scottish/Irish anscestry and as such I believe I qualify for a five year work permit. At the same time I am researching to locate documents allowing me to apply for Irish Citizenship. I am just curious about the possibilities in law enforcement. Hi all, Does anyone know of a scheme whereby your commutation can be released by way of loan or other scheme. prior to retirement I'm sure I read an article about it somewhere, but my sight as well as my mind may well was probly playing trick. Anyway , if anyone DOES know what i'm waffling on about, any info would be appreciated!
