squirrelgirl 0
HI, IS ANYONE OUT THERE CURRENTLY BEING LOOKED AT FOR MEDICAL/ILL-HEALTH RETIRMENT?? I HAVE BEEN ON RESTRICTED DUTY FOR FOUR YEARS AND HAVE CURRENTLY BEEN EXAMINED BY THE SMP. ITS BEEN A NIGHTMARE THE WHOLE THING WHAT EXPERIENCES HAVE OTHERS HAD? THERES VERY LITTLE INFO OUT THERE, AND LOTS OF DOORS GETTING SHUT IN MY FACE WHEN I STRAT ASKING QUESTIONS. . I KNOW AT THE END OF THE DAY IT BOILS DOWN TO MONEY AND NOT SO MUCH MY WELFARE. ANYONE ELSE??
Whisper 509
I think it all depends on your restrictions and the role you currently do. I am restricted, but my restriction came after I was in role and does not affect my specialist post. You could be more in the firing line so to speak if they have had to create a role for you to do. In our area there is said to be a pot of money put aside to pension off certain people, but with 6 years to do, I'm hoping I'm not one of them. Your fed should know whats afoot, what force are you? squirrelgirl 0
IVE ONLY GOT 8 YEARS IN AND 24/7 PC WITH NORTHUMBRIA. THE FED HAVE BEEN OK BUT I HAVE BEEN TOLD "IT WILL GET WORSE BEFORE IT GETS BETTER" MEANING THE JOB SITUATION. I CAN SEE ME CLIMBING TO THE DIZZY HEIGHTS OF CHIEF PAPER CLIP ORGANISER AT THIS RATE!! ALSO THERE IS GOING TO BE ALOT OF CHANGE WITH THE GOVERNMENTS NEW POLICY AND PROCEDURES AND I CAN'T SEE THEM PAYING ME £32K A YEAR WHEN A CIVILIAN WILL DO IT FOR £19K
Whisper 509
Hmmm, you could be vulnerable as it's cheaper to pension someone with 8 years than 10 plus. Is there no chance of recovery in the ensuring I have a plan B in the making. Best of luck.
