Blue Lights is a television drama series, set in Belfast, following three probationary police officers of the Police Service of Northern Ireland. The series was broadcast on BBC One it has since been recommissioned for a second series, to be filmed later this year. We watched it on our local streaming service, an excellent production and looking forward to the second series.

Documentary on tonight on C4 at 10pm. This is one of the reasons I rarely go out and my home is a fortress. It's so easy to be killed by a hitman.

I''m a bit confused watching this episode. Why didn't he wear a ski mask or gloves? That's burglary 101, even a toddler knows those rules.

stop and search film Channel 4 stop and search film

Channel 4 aired Stop and search the other night. Interestingly, one incident never had the searched logged off the four individuals who were searched, and no body worn camera footage was given, six seconds I think the legal rep said there was available. Supposedly a line manager was looking over the incident related to the police who searched the young guys. There was only the footage from the white guy of the search. While the searches and encounters may have reasons for them, a few of them looked out of place. The police were in the wrong.

Has anyone seen this? It gives an insight into the corruption within the Met decades ago and how the Commissioner and others rooted out the rotten apples. What do you think of the programme?

Watching it today. Not to be a backseat driver, but the last incident where the 2 officers where surrounds by a large angry group, why didn't they just take him quickly to their car and drive off to a safe place, instead of standing idly around in the street?

This is the General TV Chat thread. If it's on television, or other streaming service, and it's police or law related, you can chat about it here. If you can find a link to the 'On Demand' (e.g. iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4/4OD etc) that makes things easier for others to engage.

Lt. Joe Kenda

Anyone else addicted to this show? Really enjoy the format with him narrating as actors play out the events he talks about. Kenda comes across a really down to Earth guy that’s seen and heard it all, his dry sense of humour cracks me up and yet some cases still haunt him and his eyes well up which he hides/manages well. He is definitely an out of the box thinker which really holds my attention when viewing. One can only hope to be half the detective he was prior to retirement the way he is portrayed in these programs.

Anyone else caught this on Netflix? More interesting than most of the US police shows. What did shock me was 98 officers in total for a city of 100000ish people, down from 300 officers 10 years previously.
