OK - so anything with the delicious Keeley Hawes in is worth a gander - what do we have so far.

Sullen cop - check
Undiagnosed PTSD - check [not like PPOs etc undergo any psychological screening]
Illegal firearm - check
Shags his protectee - check
Bosses use him in their scheming - check [Gina McKee, mmmmmm]

So, what have we left,
Averts another major terror incident
Shags protectee some more [given]
Uncovers major political plot
Unconvincing military flashback
Has to shoot own side to save protectee [who he then shags again]
Dies heroically after ultimately evil Home Sec [who then becomes PM] stabs him in the back OR exposes evil Home Sec who dies wretchedly and he then goes home to his wife who welcomes him back.

Any others folk can think of?

Maverick cop gets within a fag paper’s width of killing the Home Sec but somehow stops himself.
Home Sec surprisingly doesn’t report him for this but insists he stays as her PPO - keep your friends close and your enemies even closer.
Making way for the next series.

I suspect that if it's anything like Line Of Duty, which I think it will be given the producer of Bodyguard was the producer of Line Of Duty then I think we've a lot more to come.

Personally I'm enjoying it so far! The bit with the school had me on the edge of my seat.

I’m a bit miffed that the PPO and the principal have started bonking, it’s a bit unoriginal and if it doesn’t become plot-crucial I will continue to be miffed. If it’s central to the storyline it makes sense.

Very predictable for me, almost to the point that it has put me off watching this week.

I was also annoyed that the train stuff was so fake in the first episode. A Class 47 diesel hauled london bound train with heritage carriages hasn't happened for about 40 years!

I've never checked, but you're BTP right? ;)

I know this is an older thread but I noticed that his warrant number started with a 5... and what with him being in the Met that would designate him as a Special Constable...

Well, if that was the only thing wrong about the programme, then that wouldn’t be too bad. 😂

Imagine it... Contact front with 5 bad guys armed to the teeth, PPO turns around to the principal and says "Sorry ma'am, I've done my hours for the month... I'm off home."
