Well I am sure that the majority of us have experienced the big wide world by now and worked their first shift, If not then it won't be long!! I know my first shift on Friday was .........well.........an experience and a half!! So much to take in....hopefully my next shift will be a little more steady and relaxed! I felt incredibly unprepared and unhelpful, but everyone that I came across at the station was wonderful. I was even welcomed by a strong cup of coffee, that helped! With my next shift booked for Wednesday night I am already feeling anxious, night instead of day, different tutor ( who I spoke to at length and is lovely, I think!!). So how about everyone els…

I know this has probably been discussed inside and outside of the forum on many many occasions. Do we know if the force is going to offer specials the chance to do PSU training, say up to level 2. I know PSU isnt everyones cup of tea, and it should only be made possible for people who are putting in alot of effort etc in to specialing, and some of you are going to say "its not cost affective, and may cost money". But i for one would love to do a PSU course. Other forces have full compliments of fully trained PSU specials, so why cant we? once you have obtained PSU L2 you could move onto M.O.E (as this would be useful on a 'day to day' basis on division, and those of us wi…

Only a couple of weeks away now, so I thought I would start a new thread for all new SC's starting on the December training course;) I for one am really looking forward to it, lots of hard work no doubt in the coming months ahead, great opportunity to meet new people and give back some of the skills and life experiences I have gained over the years into a worthwhile cause. I will start off by introducing myself, I am Liam, have worked in a busy retail environment for 7 years, love the great outdoors, keen freshwater angler, love walking, getting out and about. Applied for the Specials after my application for the regulars fell foul of Government budget cuts (Ive just…

http://www.portsmout...t-to.6653534.jp Whilst not a specific Specials operations, I was there on the BTP side and noticed a few Sussex Specials were involved on the day. If you were involved I was wondering what your thoughts on the day were. I thought it was a good operation overall.

As yesterday was my first time of visiting a police station as a warranted officer i was wondering if anyone else had that strange feeling. I cant really explain it really It all still feels a bit of a dream. Standing outside Hove nick following our induction day and being waved at by the responce cars coming back in. Anybody else had that feeling yet???

Good Afternoon All, So I was just wondering if anyone else is in as much suspense as I am currently going through?... I attended my Assessment on the 26/10/10 at Slaugham Manor, I think I was in the first group of the week? Is there anyone else who attended in that week?.. Fingers crossed the results arrive this week....

Who else is waiting for a start date at the moment? I'm sure we've been in the same boat for a while so I guess we should get acquainted! Would be interesting to hear what people think about the situation. Do you think we'll ever get a start date or do you think we might get offloaded as some unfortunate other people have been due to the budget cuts? I've been waiting for nearly 3 years now - it's amazing how much my views on the Police, my ambitions and things have changed since all that time ago! Who of you would be interested in becoming a regular once the dust has settled and the Police can start happily recruiting again?
