What can specials claim expenses wise in Suffolk? Do you get a boot allowance? Travel allowance? Food allowance? If so how much? Thanks in advance.

Now its live how is everyone getting on with it? I've got 10 officers at Lowestoft using it since Saturday and already had to book one of them off because they managed to lock themselves out of the system. I do find it really easy to use though and think it will be a great benefit when everyone gets using it properly.

Just wondered if there are any other Suffolk people going through the assessment process? I had the fitness test, and uniform fitting this week.

Hi all Just wondered if there are any Police Call Centre staff on here. Im a 20 year old Special serving in Essex and have been in now for about two years. I have seen a job advertised in Suffolk Police for Central Call Answering – Operator. This role intrests me the only thing im lacking is call centre experience which have i have none of. Does anyone know if they even consider an application with no call centre experience. thanks

Hey all, I am starting the process of transferring to Suffolk and I was wondering if there was anyone based at Newmarket.

Hi All Have just joined the site. Am currently stationed in Newmarket and have been in the Specials for the last 6 years Having read many of the previous posts, it appears that the West of the county is greatly outnumbered by the East - is there any reason for this? Does this website get advertised in the East/Ipswich? I hope to recruit some more Western Area specials to the site to even up the balance!!

I saw a new special last week with the new yellow stab vest on with the new utility belt. Any idea when the rest of us will get them?

I have just sent of my application to Suffolk with the aim of becoming a special in Stowmarket (with my other half), I have a lot of life experience for my tender years but haven't really been able to show this off on the application form and am worried that because i am so young, i may not make the paper sift.

A light hearted question to lighten the mood, how many phone numbers do you have saved in your mobile for PSD officers?? I have 4 x Office numbers (including the Sarge) and 1 x mobile number. I think it's good to keep these guys on side and have a friendly relationship but do you think forwarding the rude joke my mate text me is going to far???
