Suffolk Constabulary

i have just got through the assessment centre and training starts january. Does anyone who's already with suffolk know about the training? Whats it like. Is it better to go residential? Whats the accommodation like? Is there a nearby watering hole? In any case i'm really looking forward to it. Cheers

Just had the email confirming I've passed the initial paper sift. The journey begins. I'm really pleased. Assessment centre date is 30th November. Does anyone know what to expect? Is anyone else on here going to be there?

Hi all I am currently a Special with Notts, although I am probably going to end up moving to Suffolk for work and I would like to transfer across. I already know I can, but I wanted to know from you guys how Suffolk utilises Specials. For example, in Notts, every Special is attached to either a Response shift or Beat Team and works primarily with them. We are then asked to volunteer for events through ESIBS (does Suffolk make use of this system?). Thanks!

Hello all, Just tapping in to find out if anyone has heard anything in regard to recruitment for regulars? I was a special for 3 years while at uni for Kent police.... that was two years ago, i have heard something about possibly Easter there will be a drive, but we all know how these dates and rumors go, just seem to be moved further and further away, yet appear so close. I went for a PCSo vacancy a few months back but had to remove my application due to only (4)station vacancies out of the 20 or so advertsied BCUs actually going ahead after the papersift was completed, all of which surprise surprise were too far for me to go for. Hi, Quick question. Have the Core Competencies changed recently? I applied for the regs in May 2013 and the application was using: Respect for Race & Diversity Effective communication Problem solving Resilience Team working However, when searching online, these ones keep appearing: Serving the public Openness to change Service delivery Professionalism Decision Making Working with others Anyone know what Suffolk are using?
