Hi all; This is my first post, so be gentle with me! I am seriously considering applying to be a Special - I was in the RAF for 26 years and retired last year, and am looking for a new challenge. I live between KL and DM, so I guess I could serve at either place? If anybody has experience in either location, I would really appreciate your thoughts and words on your experiences. Hey, Any Met Officers transferred to Norfolk? I'm a born and bread Norfolker working in London and I'm contemplating a return back home. I'd be interested to hear your experiences of Norfolk Constabulary and how it compares to The Met. Regards!

Hi, Just curious to see if anyone else who applied to Norfolk Police are still waiting for their fitness date? I completed my assessment on 11 Feb and was informed about 3-4 weeks later that i passed but i haven't heard since. I spoke to someone from HR who said that they couldn't tell me when it would be but that they were being sorted. Anyone else in the same boat? Many thanks

Had word that vetting has cleared and references are starting to be asked. So now it's even more of a check-emails-every-minute time. This seems to vary by force but when does Norfolk/Suffolk issue the PINs and by which method (email/letter)? For example, will it be at initial training day or sent beforehand? Thanks!

Well that was well planned :new_doh2: Anyhow, passed it but it was only the bleep test? Apparently the push/push tests were too hard so they were scrapped, not complaining! I was training for bleep, push/pull and grip then found out this morning before the test that grip hadn't been in use since 2006... Don't know whether it was the lack of sleep (hot night + kids) or nerves but my quads started aching on level 4 :new_shhh: Could do 8.6 at night in tennis courts though but would not have been able to do anywhere near that this morning. Thank goodness the trainers had a session afterwards so they stopped it on 5.4. Anyway, well done to everyone who passed (that bei…

I am applying to join NC as a Special and I have read that the structured interview is part of the A/C. Yet I have seen many comments on applicants being given "final interviews" and using a flip chart; I have not read about this in the books. Is this part of the PIRT for Specials or just under certain conditions? Thanks!

Has anyone had anything back yet? I got a letter Friday morning informing me I had passed the paper sift and to wait for a date for the SEARCH assessment!

Got my final interview coming up would appreciate any insight into the sort of questions that might be asked as well as any suggestions for making my flip chart stand out
