I see lots of people asking what exactly do SC's in Humberside get issued with and when, so here is a list of the kit I was issued when I joined and upon completion of training. The list is correct as of now and I will update it as and when I hear of changes. About one week before training starts you get issued the following:- 2x Black trousers 2x Short sleeved black wicking top 1x Long sleeved black wicking top 1x Black national uniform microfleece 1x Pair of eppaulettes 1x Trouser belt 1x Set of green sliders with "Student Officer" embroidered on them (during your induction weekend) In week ten of the training course you will attend uniform stores and collect …

Just a quick question regarding the salary for a PC, particularly those who have made the transition from SC to PC or anyone going through the process at the minute who haa obtained details about their pay. Basically, if you have experience as a special does anyone know if you qualify for a increased starting salary to those who have no policing experience? If so, does anybody know what the criteria is to qualify for it i.e is it based on length of service, hours comitted, independent status etc.?

Through to assessment process!! YAY! After putting in my application, HR had to check there was no conflict of interest with my current job; I work alongside partner agencies and humberside police is one of them. Thought they'd forgotten about me but none the less I came back from leave with an exciting email!! Just wondering what to expect, awaiting all the documents to come through the post, but I'm too eager to prepare. I have a tendency to babble on about nothing if I dont prepare enough! Any tips or advice? Thanks, V!

Hi all, I've decided to apply for the Special Constables for Humberside police. I was wondering what research is best to do to prepare for the interview/assessments and where to find the relevant information? Also; I'm scheduled to go onto the presentation evening where I pick up my application Form, what's the dress code for that and the recruitment process as a whole?

I've been a police service volunteer for around 6 months now and as expected, part of the joining process included filling out a rather large vetting form. I've recently attended an assessment for the Specials (awaiting response still) and wondered if anyone would know as to whether the vetting process should theoretically be passed quicker, having already been vetted to be a PSV. I'd like to hope that it will be seeing as nothing has changed regarding my position since I was last vetted, though I'm happy to remain patient anyway. Thanks.

hi there, I had my medical put on hold as id had not been off a medication for 12 months, now the 12 months is up i had a meeting with OH and they recieved my medical notes they requested from my doctor... after what seems like months. I was contacted about a month ago by South Yorkshire who have took over HR for the Specials and was told to ring up for a appointment with the OH nurse in November approx around the 7th. Hello all in Hunberside Just seen this knocking around on twitter - could be nice for serving SCs if it goes ahead? Special constables could cop up to 50 per cent cut in their council tax bills - http://www.thisisscunthorpe.co.uk/story.html?aid=17700953 S

Hello everyone. After the presentation evening last October, I passed the application stage for the specials. Then in March of this year I had my assessment day, which I also passed. I filled out my vetting forms, and had my medical in June, where they said everything was fine. That was the last contact I've had. I'm hearing of training starting in August, September, and so on, but I've not heard a peep. I've e-mailed the force a couple of times but never had a reply barring the automatic 'your email has been received' one. What should my next steps be? I'm getting a little impatient Thanks

Hi all, I had a phone call the other day asking if I could start training 27th of this month, to which I obliged. Is anyone undergoing training at the minute? In what order is stuff being taught and when do you have to get measured for uniform? Many thanks

I was in Oxford Street in central London yesterday when I saw five of your officers on foot patrol (not all together obviously!). I'm assuming they are on aid for the big sports event.

Just watched the first two episodes of this on Iplayer, noticed two specials from the intake I was on, one in each episode. 1st one made me laugh, face was blurred out to protect her identity but her FIN number was clearly visiable which can identify her. Well done BBC haha! 2nd one was when the drug user who OD'd was been drug tested, this time she was not blurred out but was not wearing Epaulettes which she should of been. The pretty girl not the girl who was late for work.
