I was meant to be having my assessment day this Saturday, I received a letter staring that due to limited places on the day I have been put on a reserve list incase anyone drops out. I can't see that happening so I was wondering if anyone knows if there will be another assessment day this year or nor? Many thanks.

Hi Everyone I’m eager to join the Specials although I am worried that myasthma will get in the way. I am fit; I cycle for an hour a day and rock climb, none ofthese activities bother me or irritate my asthma. I would really appreciate some feedback on this. Thank you, Wayne

So it's been over a year (August 2010) since I first submitted my application and finally I've been offered a start date of 22nd October! Recruitment wanted me to start this weekend but I have a trip to the US booked which would interfere with the training. Just to decide whether I want to be A-div or B-div??

Hi Could anyone let me know what the Mileage allowance for Humberside Specials, do you get your mileage paid from home to training centre whilst training? Also do Humberside issue boots or give an allowance towards them? Cheers and all Stu

Anyone had any feedback from the 13 August assessment day yet from NPIA. I know I have passed but there was a delay in getting feedback from NPIA recruitment told me, Tomorrow is 20 days since the assessment day so hopefully it will in tomorrows post. All I was told by recruitment was that I had passed and scored highly, just would be nice to know what I need to work on and what I nailed. Right off to the GP's now to hand him a cheque for £25 for signing my form nice of him to charge !

My word even though I felt I had messed the assessment interview up ----- I passed. Vetting, Medical and References to go then a big hello to C Div

Does anyone know - for definite - how long you have to serve before you get it, and if you have to apply for it yourself? I thought it was 10 years, but was told I should have had mine 2 years ago!! I have never had one... maybe cos no-one likes me... lol

Folks, Can anyone remember the name of the solicitors we contact nationaly for the special constabulary. I think thier is going to be a complaint made by a member of the public, so I am waiting patiantly for my Reg 9 to be served. Im not going to discuss the details on here, its not appriate but its all around a Juvenile reprimand and they expected to go through the triage process, bue aggrevating factors means its a reprimand.

Do Humberside Police allow potential applicants to go on a shift as an Observer? Sure I can remember it said on one of the police programmes on TV once that some forces allow this if they have the time. Cheers
