Hi, I've got my assessment day coming up for humberside on the 12th or te 13th of November, as the assessment is apparently a big assessment day, it's being conducted over the two days. I was just curious if there's anyone else attending the next assessment, Cheer's Dean.

hey i was wondering how you go about becoming a special constable?

Hi guys, just started this to see who is in D Div within Humberside? I'm coming up to my 5th training day and found that I'm going to be posted somewhere in D Div... met the Special Inspector too, seems a nice guy, didn't realise who he was at first though! Hope everyone elses applications/vetting/training/Specials are alright too! Clint

Has any one any idea how long vetting is currently taking at the moment with relation to volunteer roles please?

Hello all.... Right, So I've been to my assessment day today, where I did my numeracy, literacy and reasoning tests....but I won't know if I've passed that till next week...However as the lady said that the interviews will only be next month I just wanted some details to get organised, if I do pass.... So...What is the interview like...I've applied for the Lancashire Constabulary, so does anyone know where I will have my interview...will I have to go back to Preston.... I know the interview will be on the core competencies, but how do they word the questions....Has anyone recently had an interview to be a special constable??... I found a letter waiting for me when i came back after christmas saying that my application had been successful and i was invited to an assessment day, the only problem is that due to a series of changes in personal circumstances I don't think that i'll be staying in the area after i graduate from uni so i'm only going to be around for another 6 months. If i tell them this and withdraw my application would it count as a rejection and prevent me from reapplying again to this force if i do end up staying or a different one wherever i end up?

Hi, I completed the medical on Monday and passed. I was just wondering if any of the others, applying for Humberside, have had their medical's yet? Occupational health rang me to ask for a couple of bits to do with the medical form, the lady I spoke to said I would hear from them soon to book in for a medical. So anyway I went into work on Monday and they'd made a mistake and I didn't have to be there, with that I got a call from OH to see if I could make it on Thursday for a medical, which would've been tomorrow. I said to the nurse on the phone "yeah that's fine, I could've come today, as I I've a free day" With that the nurse said, "can you get here in an hour?" …

Hello all I've finally made the decision that I wish to apply. Does anybody know roughly how long the process takes? If you are successful, do you get to choose when you wish to begin your training? For me it would be best to be around easter time. And if anybody has any general advice on how to prepare or anything similar, I will be eternally grateful! Ta! S

Quite simply, like the title says, does anyone know what torch we're issued in Humberside? I've been offered a brand spanking new LED Lenser MT7 and pocket-friendly P3 at a bargain price (no, they're not fakes) and just wondered whether we get issued anything half decent?

Just got my offer letter - start training on 22nd October, 3 days before my medical. You think I should bring my medical forward?

I read that the deadline is 6th November (sunday) - so far during the training it has only been touched upon on how to claim, basically how do we claim, as far as I can see it we fill DutySheet in and the print off the expense form, who then signs it and when do they collect them? If we miss the 6th November can it be forwarded over for the December pay run? :D If we hand them in on Saturday will they get into the pay run for November? :D Obsviously coming from Goole it helps with the fuel costs :D

Okay, so it's a long-shot, but does anyone want to swap one of the new style plain black tops (brand new in bag) with epaulettes on the arms (rather than shoulders) and permanently attached in size large for an old style black shirt with insignia -front crest & Humberside Police on the arms as without a fleece, which I have on back order, there's nothing identifying the uniform as police, let alone Humberside -I look like a poor man's security guard and have no pride at all in my kit. Apparently all new shirts will be this plain style with forces group buying -I can understand not branding them force specific, but surely 'Police' wouldn't be out of the question? To ad…
