Hi Uniform in Herts with regards to stab vest, tac vests ect what is deal as I've seen a few wearing high vis yellow, but also a lot wearing black stab vest with black tac vest over the top? Is it all high vis stab vest now or is that only for high vis patrols, NTE sort of stuff.

Evening all, Is there anyone on here who could give me a quick PM about transferring to herts. Just got some standard questions really - What a day to day shift is like, specialist opportunities and training, the role of SPC's (e.g. do you deal in custody with interviewing and full files or is it like the met where you aren't allowed to do anything beyond arrest and handover for custody jobs). And also if you know anything about the transfer process + training, transferability of skills, etc. that would be a nice bonus. Cheers

So our new SCO is now in post and no doubt trying to juggle his Police training to become a warranted officer with a plethora of HQ meetings including those next week . I haven't met the boss yet but it would appear he sounds keen to deliver a meaty plan over the next few years and nobody can deny that opportunities for development have been increased by our regular Inspector . For me it has illustrated that direct entry at senior level for SC is here. I would like to think the new SCO will have to obtain IPS so he obtains a real understanding of the process and front line policing but I doubt that he will ever get time for this with the role he occupies . …

Hey guys! So has anyone got an application open with Hertfordshire Police? If so what stage are you? I've just received my SEARCH assessment results from June 25th, pretty happy with my result :) No news as of yet for the fitness & medical, but I guess there is no rush!

Hi all! I am currently serving in the Met and i am interested in the transfer opportunity Herts have at the moment. Does anyone on here currently serve in Herts and have any advice about the force? Good areas to work etc. And also any idea of where they a likely to post officers. I currently work on Emergency Response and I would like to move to response in Herts. Are they likely to post into neighbourhoods or response? or would we be likely to get a choice. Thanks in advance for your advice. HP

Hey guys I am starting training with Herts in September and was wondering whether they go over the knowledge learnt from the CKP or not? I suppose it makes sense for them to assume you know it but I did my CKP last year, with no way of re-enforcing the knowledge learnt by putting it into practice over the last year I have become quite rusty. So should I be looking at trying to refresh myself or will they simply cover it in training?
