Hello all, Recently sent off my application form for D&C before the cutoff date of 15th August 2014, for inclusion in the next round of interviews on the 18th and 19th of October, when will I know if i have passed the paper sift? Special constable application sent off for 21st feb 2014 closing date. Anyone else in the same boat?

I received a letter saying i passed the paper sift *sighs of relief*. However, it said that my application "will now be progressed to background enquiries and we will contact you when an interview date becomes available.". When i applied it said the interviews would be on the 18&19th Oct. Does this letter mean that these days have been filled and i'll be slotted into the next recruitment drive? Or are they wanting to do a background check before offering me an interview. I'm thinking it's the former, but as you can imagine i'm hoping not. I don't really want to have to wait for the next drive to get an interview, i'm too impatient haha. EDIT - Also in the letter…

Hello everyone, I'm really just putting the feelers out on this one.... I'm due to start Regular training at the end of this month,and this will be a full relocation for me,from Lancashire in fact. I don't know if anyone else may be in the same boat, or is also due to start training on here?.... Looking into it maintaining a flat/house on my own is more than doable,however I would seriously consider house sharing for the financial benefits. I am of course aware that it will be some time,4 and a half months to be exact until this is required. I am currently applying to become a special within Devon and Cornwall...on the application form it asks what is your preferred Division/Basic Command Unit / Borough. I am not totally sure what this is asking so any help would be much appreciated thanks

I'm currently a serving response PC up in the midlands, however considering moving down to the south west, either Dorset or Devon, possibly Cornwall. I'm looking at both Dorset, and D&C as for a transfer, however at present only Dorset are taking on transferees. I rang D&C this morning and they have no idea when they will be taking on any transferees, other than Firearms Instructors and CIU at present. I'll be keeping an eye on D&C and heavily considering Dorset too. My main consideration at this point is which stations response officers are based at in D&C? Thought id start a new topic for the guys waiting for a starting date / vetting to be done ! Fingers crossed most of us get the 14th November intake (induction 1st oct) If they go by the 8 weeks notice , we should have heard by the 19th September !

Hey guys so today i called Recruitment with regards to dates for the take on for the people who are doing their fitness day tomorrow and they said that there is a hight chance that they are doing a Force review and they are sending people who are doing there fitness day on the 16th to be taken on for next year and start training next year :new_sorry: . I also asked about vetting and they said you dont even start vetting you until you have passed your fitness day. So I have got my medical forms to be filled out by the 16th for the fitness test. I've sorted the eyesight form. Just recieved a phone call from my doctors surgery saying it will be £27.50 for the GP to sign the medical form. Is this normal? Do D&C Police reimburse for things like this? Any help would be great. Hey guys, I handed in my SC application for the middle of June 2014, it mentioned on the website that Interviews would be held July 25th etc. Just wondered who else had handed in an application and also, when did you hear anything back? Thanks
