*knock knock* Quiet in here isn't it? Are there any serving officers from Cumbria here? Spcifically South Division if possible.

I'm hoping someone can assist me, this appears to be a very quiet sub forum but maybe we have some Cumbria officers lurking around. If we do indeed have any officers from Cumbria please if you could spare me 10 minutes reply to this thread so I can ask some questions about the force.

Hi folks, I'm one of the new specials just starting my IL4SC training at HQ this month. We've just finished our first weekend and I'm feeling battered by all the information overload!

I'm looking for opinions from currently serving (or ex-serving) officers on what the biggest issues facing the county are. Cumbria is a diverse (and huge) area in terms of population and types of crime and there was recently a bit of backlash to the way police handled things during Uppies and Downies this year (I sympathise with the service, you poor buggers can't do anything right it seems). Looking forward to responses!!!

Passed interview and PIR test in January, recently been to have fingerprints and DNA taken and undergoing vetting at the moment, anyone else who is in the same situation as me or any advice on what happens next? Cheers

Apologies in advance if this has been asked a thousand times but I'm very curious about how long the vetting process takes. Is it a case of how long is a piece of string? I am applying for the role of a Special Constable with Cumbria Constabulary and have so far passed the application, assessment centre and medical. Ten days ago I submitted my DNA and fingerprints and both my references have been approached. I assume given I have got this far things look positive? Cheers.

Hi All, I have my Medical and fitness on the 6th July. My question is, what attire should i wear? Do i go in Suit, shirt and tie and take my gym clothes in my bag or is it acceptable to arrive in gym gear. TIA Tony

Hi All, A few questions. I start training in December, do you get you uniform before the start date or once you have completed the training? what uniform/kit do you get allocated and what do you need to purchase? Sorry i have lots of questions. TIA Tony
