Cumbria Constabulary

So after an incredibly long time going through recruitment, a couple of months of training, we have finally been sworn in as special constables!!! I can't wait to get out on duty and to see how all this law stuff I've learnt over the past few weeks is applied in real everyday policing.

Amazing how fast training has been. This time next week we'll be in front of a magistrate about to read our oath. Hopfully I wont mess it up!!! How is everyone else feeling about heading into the final week?

hi all, had a from HR last week, during my vetting it was discovered that i have an outstanding CCJ, i had no idea about this, however on further investigation apparently the CCJ was served in january 2006 at Northampton, this is a bulk centre where most CCJ's are served. anyhow, after doing some digging around i have now found out that the original debt was sopld on to a management company for which i have been paying off for the past 3 years and only have £500 big ones to clear, iv spoken to HR and they have advisd me that my application can be put on hold for approx 3 months, this they say should help pay the debt off. so the bike been sold and a wage advance applied f…

...I've suffered a bit of a disappointment and need to vent. So, really looking forward to the first day induction on Sept 30th. Four more sleeps as my daughter would say. Having wanted to join the Police in some capacity since I left school (now 33 yrs young), to finally be successful is a dream come true. Like a lot of you who are posting about the up coming training I have been through the riggers of applying - waiting - passing the paper sift - waiting - attending the PIRT - waiting - passing the PIRT - waiting - sending off the vetting forms - waiting - being invited to medical- waiting - attending the fitness and medical, completing this final hurdle, all in all…
