    Fifteen men have been charged after police said they made the biggest cocaine bust in Australia's history. The drugs, with an estimated street value of A$360m (£212m; $258m), were uncovered after a police investigation over more than two years. Police said they seized 500kg (1,100lb) of cocaine from a boat in Brooklyn, north of Sydney, on Christmas Day. It followed the confiscation of 600kg in drugs in Tahiti. Police believe they were destined for Australia.     US police investigating a murder have tussled with Amazon over access to data gathered by one of its Echo speakers. The voice-controlled device was found near to a hot tub where the victim was found dead amid signs of a struggle. According to court filings, Amazon was issued with two search warrants but refused to share information sent by the smart device to its servers. However, the police said a detective found a way to extract data from the device itself.     This week there has been yet another spate of police officers shooting black males (some of whom may have been unarmed) causing further racial tension with the communities they serve. Whether they are right to shoot or not I'm not gonna be the armchair judge, I've been in lots of situations where others might have seen my actions as disproportionate yet I was able to justify them due to circumstances that couldn't be seen by the onlookers or any MOP watching a video.     I found this very interesting. Thought prudent not to insert it into the other thread, but the critical point he made being the 85% of offenders being essentially on their gang list, and that they commit multiple offences because it's a revolving door.
