Hello! I'm currently an applicant to join the Nottinghamshire Constabulary as a Special Constable. For part time I work at a Tesco Extra store as customer service assistant. For my age I consider myself ambitious, mature and disciplined. I have a big interest in science, mainly physics, and enjoy spending time outdoors or on expeditions across the country.

My area is Hull so would like to join Humberside Police. I currently work in IT and have a degree in IT. I have a full driving licence. I believe I have the qualities as a person to be able to join the police. Wanted to join the army at 17-18 but I had children and settled down young so it turned out not to be…

This year from April 6, the new flat rate law came into effect, having been introduced by Pension Bill 2014. The Police pension as well as the council pension for the civilians (Police Staff) were opted out of the State Earnings Related Pension Scheme (SERPs) that became the State Second Pension (S2P) from 2002. When the flat rate was first talked about it was portrayed as everyone retiring, as new pensioners from April 6 2016, getting the full flat rate state pension of £155.65 per week with the raised requirement of 35 years National Insurance record. Wrong. Any years contracted out of SERPs have been used to reduce the amount you get down from the full…

A new book by a former undercover drug officer is out next week. He concludes by saying the war on drugs is not effective. Has there been a thread on here discussing this issue, I can't find one (I'm new here)
