A bungling thief became the face of crime that does not pay when he provided police with his own mugshot while stealing CCTV equipment from a pub. Armed with little more than a Swiss Army knife, the hapless thief spent four hours dismantling the equipment seemingly unaware his every move was being caught on camera. His girlfriend also made a fleeting appearance in the footage - but had the sense to stay out of the limelight. The burglar struck at the former Lister Arms pub next to Bradford's busy Manchester Road at 4am on Sunday. Owner Amjad Ali, a solicitor who is converting the premises into offices for his law firm, said: 'Originally I was frustrated. But when I …

A millionaire footballer caught speeding at 107mph has escaped a driving ban and was handed a paltry fine after he begged magistrates for leniency as he is currently unemployed. The German international is currently a free agent and looking for a new club after he was released by relegated West Ham at the end of last season and claims he is speeding around the country trying to find a new club. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-14139947 A woman who served time for killing her partner has been jailed for life after being convicted of murdering another man at a party at her east London home. Got to wonder why "She had served 42 months for kicking and punching her partner Kevin Qui to death in 2004, the Old Bailey heard." seems rather low, but then you need to go to extraordinary lengths in order to gain a real sentence nowadays. But indeed what a nasty individual, will be out within 15 years no doubt.

A father who warned another parent about a convicted paedophile has been fined £1,000 and found guilty of harassing the sex offender. He was horrified to find his ex-wife's new husband – stepfather to his daughter, 11 – had served three jail terms for sex crimes. A reporting restriction imposed to protect the stepfather's identity means that none of the family members can be named. One of the stepfather's sentences was for molesting two 12-year-old girls as they slept at his house. A court heard the father raised the alarm after discovering four of his daughter's friends had been invited to the family home for a sleepover to celebrate her birthday. When he showed …
