http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/east-hampshire/portsmouth_police_officers_test_out_new_electric_car_1_2814030 Police trialled an unusual new weapon in their war against crime – an electric car. Portsmouth officers were handed a Nissan Leaf for a five-day taster by the car maker. The environmentally-friendly vehicle – which the car giant says can travel at a top speed of more than 90mph – was test-driven by officers in the city. After being charged overnight using electricity from the mains at Cosham police station, the Leaf could travel up to 113 miles before needing to be recharged. Chief superintendent Nigel Hindle, commander for the Eastern policing a…

Driver ordered to remove his custom licence plate ''BO11 LUX'' by DVLA, after purchasing it from them? Im sure I read an article where the bloke in question asked ''what offense he was commiting? - If they sold it to him'' From the Register? Daily Fail (If you read the daily mail one - expect the usual police bashing by them and the user comments)

Justice Secretary Ken Clarke has said a householder who knifes a burglar will not have committed a criminal offence under plans to clarify the law on self-defence in England. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13957587 Best headline i have seen in a long time. Im not sure they have got this one right to be honest. I think they will be sending the wrong message with saying its cool to stab up burglars, because with the best will in the world, its it going to make people think twice before breaking in, or is it going to make people choose the elderly as a target and carry their own knife.

I am absolutely disgusted as are many of the local people I speak to at the fact that Kelsey Donkey was given a suspended sentence for saying "bang bang" to PC David Rathband. There was a perfect chance for a message to be sent out that such behaviour is totally unacceptable in this country, to any one not just PC Rathband. Maybe she is sorry for what she did, but what she did do is going well beyond acceptable stupidity. Of course, anyone with a brain cell bigger than an ameba would know it would have devistating effects on a man who has been recently blinded. I mean, how would Ms. Donkey like it if people made the sound of a pig behind her?

Here is a topic that has been doing the rounds in some gay lesbian forums. When I first heard that Stonewall's disreputable Diversity Champions List had put the Home Office top of the Diversity Champions List I thought "Proof if ever there was that that list is nothing more than a money making cash cow for the Charity" You do not have to be fourty something to know that the Conservatives and Gay Rights Groups have never been the best of friends since Clause 28. When the Conservatives were trying to gain Gay and Lesbian votes and were bottled on the stage and booed you got the impression they were neither liked or trusted. Low and behold, they are not in 6 months, make …

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-13925127 This woman has been told 12 weeks in jail for the remarks and gesture made are being considered, that would be a decent sentence in my opinion considering the impact her comments would have had on Pc Rathband and the fact that he was going into court for the trial of the 2 people accused of helping Moat shoot him in the face. I cannot believe that someone could be so callous.

More here: http://www.westmercia.police.uk/news/news-articles/strategic-alliance-agreed-by-west-mercia-and-warwickshire.html?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed Sounds interesting. If it improves cross border co-operation then this is very good, particularly for those who live on the force borders.

Having read the latest tragic news of the Sgt Craven "dogs left to suffocate in car" incident I was shocked to learn this was not the first time a dog had died in his care. At first I was angry then when I heard of the fact he was clearly suicidal I began to become really angry, not with him but with something that I have spoken out on in the past. All Police Forces are totally negligent when it comes to dealing with officers and staff showing signs of mental stress and suicidal thoughts. I have looked into this following the suicide of the Merseyside Police's first female ARV Officer Con Paula Tomlinson. And the standard response from the Force when it became clear a…
