A policeman who had an affair with an alleged rape victim while he investigated her case was jailed for three years yesterday. Former detective sergeant John Cragg, 42, who worked as a rape victim support officer, also had sex with the mother of an eight-year-old rape victim. His behaviour caused two court cases to collapse. The shamed officer, who resigned last year, pleaded guilty to two charges of misconduct in a public office at Liverpool Crown Court. He showed no emotion as he was sentenced. SENIOR Notts police officers are in line for hefty pay increases – despite the fact hundreds of officers are facing redundancy. The idea has been blasted by unions who say they are "astounded and disgusted". Listed on an agenda due before Notts Police Authority on Tuesday are requests from Chief Constable Julia Hodson for three officers to receive pay increases on account of their "exceptional" performances.
