This is the shocking moment a crazed commuter launched an apparently random attack on a woman - pushing her on to the tracks of the London Underground. The 23-year-old victim struck up a brief conversation with the thug and following a trivial row over the man's hat, he turned and shoved her on to the rails on the Northern Line at Leicester Square. A man who threw a brick at a victim's head forcing him to fall onto a train track in East Anglia has been jailed indefinitely. Ian Tomlinson, 24, of no fixed address, carried out three attacks on men at Ipswich, Diss and Colchester train stations over a ten-day period in June last year. On one occasion Tomlinson followed his victim off the train at Colchester shortly after midnight. As the man waited on the platform, Tomlinson threw a brick at his head from close range. The victim fell onto the tracks where he lay unconscious and motionless on the high-speed line. As he lay there, Tomlinson climbe…

I have always been in awe of journalists and photographers who report from war zones. I know some people might think it's fool hardy to put themselves in such danger, but if it wasn't for the likes of Marie Colvin and Remi Ochlik, we would be oblivious to the horrendous acts of some regimes. I know a photographer who has been covering war zones for many years. He has come under fire on numerous occasions but despite this he continues to return to do a job which he believes could make a difference for those unable to speak out for themselves. RIP Marie and Remi http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-17124786

http://www.dailymail...a-cemetery.html The lowest of the low: Woman caught on CCTV 'stealing flowers from schoolboy's grave' after family were forced to install camera in cemetery tree These are the shocking pictures that appear to show a vile woman stealing from the grave of a schoolboy. The family of the 11-year-old, who was killed by a car in 1980, installed a CCTV camera at the cemetery in Barking, Essex, after repeated thefts of gifts they had left there. They were horrified when the footage seemed to show a woman callously take flower pots from the youngster's grave and shove them into her handbag. Shocking: A woman appears to remove tributes left at…

MP Eric Joyce has been suspended by the Labour Party after being arrested on suspicion of assault after an alleged fight at a bar in the House of Commons. A spokesman for the party said the suspension would be in place until a police investigation into the incident is complete. http://news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16175403 MP`s seem no better then the rest of the scum in the streets, if they are not head-butting each other they are attempting to get away with points on licence, or claiming to many expenses. We are led by an odd bunch.

..has died, aged 85. He made me laugh as I was growing up in the 70 and 80s.........you were guaranteed a laugh in, as I recall it, much easier times. Seemed such a genuinely funny and decent man. Real shame and loss. Thoughts to his family and friends. It's the way he told them. Thank you, and Goodnight.

http://www.guardian....ke-firefighters A man who fell into a lake drowned after firefighters called to the scene said they could not enter the water if it was higher than ankle deep for health and safety reasons, an inquest has been told. . The reason for posting is that we recently had a talk on the new national decision making model. (or something like that). Which is like the old conflict management model but has something in the middle along the lines of 'should the police being doing this'. In essence it appears to be saying that if you do something which is technically against the rules or policy under which you work, but you do it for the right reasons and can…

From BTP Website: http://www.btp.police.uk/about_us/latest_news/eru_for_tube_to_use_blue_light.aspx We've established a new partnership with Transport for London to allow their Emergency Response Unit vehicles to use flashing blue lights when responding to incidents on the Tube network. In a trial scheme the specialist unit that responds when incidents such as person under train or broken down trains cause a threat to the safety of passengers will become a police vehicle. It will travel under the same ‘Blue Light’ conditions used by police, ambulance and fire services. This means that it will be able to cut through London’s traffic more quickly, cutting respons…

A private security company has signed a deal to design, build and run a police station in Lincolnshire. The agreement - between G4S and Lincolnshire Police - is thought to be the first of its kind in the UK. As part of the deal, two-thirds of staff employed by the force would be transferred to the private sector. BBC Home Affairs correspondent Danny Shaw said it was arguably the most radical solution to the budget cuts facing police forces. It is thought the contract will save Lincolnshire at least £20m. The Police Federation has raised concerns about the plan, saying police force staff have an "enshrined sense of public duty which private employees may not". Under …
