A crooked solicitor faces years behind bars after smuggling drugs and mobile phones to prison inmates in oversized shoes. Ritesh Brahmbhatt, 31, 'abused his position of trust' as a lawyer to use legal visits to two prisons to smuggle in banned and illegal items in return for cash bungs. But he was caught out when sniffer dogs at one jail smelt the cannabis and meow meow hidden inside his size 12 wide-fit shoes. And Blackfriars Crown Court heard Brahmbhatt also managed to fit some electronic scales in the black, metal-buckled slip-ons, that were at least three sizes too big for the lawyer. Brahmbhatt had bought the size 12 shoes just days before from a branch of High an…

A MAN has been banned from being alone with his daughter after inadvertently downloading indecent images of children. Scaffolder Nigel Robinson, 43, was downloading music from a file sharing website when he says he opened up images of young girls. http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/Dad-banned-daughter-reported-child-porn/story-15410159-detail/story.html Bit of an over-reaction or the right idea?

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is to charge Greater Manchester Police and two officers over the shooting of a PC in a training exercise. On Tuesday The Crown Prosecution Service said there was "insufficient evidence" for criminal charges over PC Ian Terry's death. But the HSE said there was evidence to prosecute the force and two trainers under health and safety laws. PC Terry, 32, from Burnley, was shot in the chest by a colleague, in 2008. An HSE statement said: "A Health and Safety Executive (HSE) investigation has concluded that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest to prosecute the force and two of its training staff for alleged c…

Sex offenders will face tougher checks, ministers announced today - after the Mail revealed more than 850 are on the run from the police. The Home Office will close a string of loopholes in the official register of sex criminals - including one which allowed offenders to register their address as a park bench. Homeless sex offenders who did not have a permanent address were able to nominate a public place where they slept as their home and keep it for an entire year. In future they will be forced to check in with the police every week and notify the authorities if they are moving around. Anyone on the register who travels abroad will have to tell the police even for t…

The schoolgirl victims of a teenage girl who dressed as a boy to date them told of their pain today as their deceiver was jailed for two-and-a-half years. The pair, aged 15 and 16, believed they had found the perfect boyfriends in Connor McCormack and Aaron Lampard - who they believed were their age. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2110430/Girl-19-tricked-female-friends-sexual-relationships-dressing-BOY-jailed-half-years.html Are these people attempting to fool me by saying they were convinced this was a boy? Did they not realize he always sat down to go to the loo. Repulsed seems a strong word, obviously not much happened, so she fell in love, or lik…
