New questions raised about Metropolitan Police's handling of Stephen Lawrence affair. A relative of a "corrupt" police officer at the heart of the Stephen Lawrence inquiry worked at Scotland Yard, it has emerged, prompting fresh questions about the force’s handling of the affair. John Davidson, a former detective sergeant, was corrupt and had links with the gangster father of one of Stephen Lawrence’s killers, a new inquiry into the affair concluded earlier this week. The report by Mark Ellison QC also said information about Mr Davidson’s role was withheld from a public inquiry into the black teenager’s racist murder. Mr Davidson’s daughter Lynsey Danaher was employed…

... while a PCSO just stands about. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2578457/Axe-wielding-man-disarmed-pinned-floor-brave-passer-botched-jewellery-robbery.html The moment smash-and-grab axe-man was disarmed and pinned to the floor by brave passer-by during botched jewellery robbery An axe-wielding robber was wrestled to the ground by a have-a-go hero this afternoon after a gang of would-be thieves tried to smash their way into a jewellery shop. Anyone heard of this new scheme... In essence, it similar to nurses who have to pass (and pay for) their training and qualification before they apply for their job. Well, the rumor is that it will be introduced for new applicants to police. But, we will all be expected to pay into this every month to keep your qualification up. And here's the thing, even if you have had 10 years in already, you will be expected to pay into this on a monthly basis to keep up your 'policing qualification'

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2577274/Top-judge-soft-foreign-criminals-sacked-emerged-living-illegal-immigrant.html Despite the connotations that can be drawn from this character's behaviour - particularly in relation to his decisions on immigration cases, what concerns me is that the judicial authorities are not going to look into his previous cases. Clearly, it is only where Police Officers or Army personnel are concerned that "historic" investigations are required. In this individual's case, they wouldn't have to go back too far to investigate. Mind you, if it were me investigating, I want to be looking at his bank balance(s), any extensive leisure travel…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2577967/C4-admits-misleading-viewers-poll-trust-police.html So my question is "Which independent investigative authority will be looking into this example of gross professional misconduct by a licenced media organisation?" The answer of course is "none!" as it seems only the Police have to account for their public misdeeds .......................... For this outrageous parody of reporting, C4 should be sanctioned severely by OfComm - but there's about as much chance of that as me becoming Pope - despite my being RC!

How come the civilian police are investigating, if both involved were servicemen?

An ex-senior officer and wife of sacked former Cleveland chief Sean Price was arrested after a foul-mouthed tirade to hospital staff and officers, the police watchdog has revealed. A report from the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said Detective Chief Inspector Heather Eastwood had reeled off a series of four-letter expletives in an apparent drunken rant before being arrested and venting her anger at custody officers. The watchdog said its investigation had found that Ms Eastwood – who resigned before disciplinary proceedings could be taken – had not disclosed that she was a serving officer after her arrest as well failing to bring it to light in a dev…

Two West Midlands Police officers have pleaded guilty to stealing money and cigarettes from a property they were searching as part of an integrity test. PCs Mark David (30) and Neil Samuels (33), who are both suspended, admitted theft when they appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court. Concerns about the officers' behaviour were raised with the force's Professional Standards Department in April 2013. They were subjected to an integrity test - the property search in Oldbury – in July of that year. The officers are both response officers in Sandwell. PC Davis has six years service, while PC Samuels has 11. They have been bailed until their sentencing on March 26. Supt …

Detective Chief Inspector Heather Eastwood says a head injury caused her to forget events that saw her arrested for being drunk and disorderly after swearing at medics and officers. A senior detective who was the partner of a chief constable at a scandal-hit force swore at medics and officers before she was arrested for being drunk and disorderly then failed to tell her employers, an investigation by the police watchdog said. Detective Chief Inspector Heather Eastwood had been the staff officer for Cleveland Police Chief Constable Sean Price, who has since been sacked for gross misconduct. They are now married. After the long-running £4.6 million Operation Sacristy int…

More and more Home Office police officers are having a full career then having a second police career in other forces like BTP & MDP or staying on in their current force beyond their 30 years blocking promotion for officers in their first career and officers half way through their career trying to get promoted like myself. I personally have 15 years left to serve until my 30 years and have no intention in staying on. 30 years is enough in any career. My option is - if you've done 30 years step aside and give others a chance.
