http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2073989.ece ISRAELI fighter jets have launched new attacks on the Gaza strip today after warning that ground forces may be used as the operation continues The rights and wrongs of this war, intrests me not. What does intrest me is. "A PROTEST outside the Israeli Embassy in London descended into chaos today as demonstrators clashed with police." If you want the sympathy of the British public, leave the Police alone, cretins.

Mods - I put this here because I see it as a question of image in the news, rather than just s roads policing issue. Feel free to relocate if you disagree. On our local BBC news since early this morning: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england...ria/7844457.stm Such a shame that having seen a dangerous driver do 59 in a 30, he just got a warning letter! When will the powers that be learn that it simply does not work! Allowing local residents to operate in this way seems more an admission that the police are undermanned seriously, and the release of the change from 39.2 to 37.7 mph and it being claimed to be a success, merely puts the police in a bad light! I sus…

http://www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/news/Yob...il/article.html A YOB who broke a police officer's rib after ripping a number plate from a car has been given a suspended jail term. More pointless sentencing. Not sure why the Police bother taking these oinks to court. So much for being tough on knife crime.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/7839250.stm Two of Greater Manchester's most senior police officers have been caught up in an armed robbery at a fast food restaurant in Eccles. Even off duty, still on duty, got to admire the courage of these two Officers. :smiley_notworthy: :smiley_notworthy: :smiley_notworthy: I still think the knives would do more damage then the fast food. I am sure the thanks of all MOP`s go out to these fine Police officers. :smiley_notworthy:

A CONSERVATIVE Government would ban officers from having second jobs because the office of constable is 'just too vital' for them to be 'seen to be compromised in any way', the shadow police minister has said. David Ruffley made the comments after Police Review revealed that more than 4,300 officers in 29 forces across the UK have second jobs or outside business interests to make ends meet. Jobs range from grave restorers and lingerie saleswomen to equine dentists and falconers. Sixteen of the 31 Conservative shadow cabinet members have registered financial interests outside Parliament including William Hague, shadow foreign secretary, who earned around £200,000 last …

The head of Tayside police has apologised after being caught speeding on a hazardous stretch of the A9. Chief Constable Kevin Mathieson was travelling at 72mph in a 60mph zone near Kingussie last September. He accepted responsibility for the offence and was fined £60 and received three penalty points on his licence. The A9 between Perth and Inverness is seen as a dangerous stretch of road, with several fatal accidents occurring every year. Mr Mathieson had been driving to Inverness for an independent custody visitors' association conference when he was caught speeding. In a statement released by the force, he said: "There is never an excuse for speeding nor do I s…
